Did Bama get calls last year that kept them from losing the iron bowl? Or calls in 2016 that kept them from losing the NCG? Get real. Lsu didn't get called for crap vs Bama and still lost this year. Refs made it a point to show that y'all crae crae.

This is such a bullshite statistic. For the millionth time it's not the number of penalties, it's when they're called or not called. For instance when Bama blatantly holds on Tua's touchdown throw to make the score 38-21 that's not called holds a lot more weight than garbage time penalties after Bama has already iced the game.

But in the case of Saturdays game, the timing was pretty specific. After that play was called back, game was changed.
It was the second drive of the game? Specific timing? Are you out of your mind?
When all Gus can say is "you don't call that in the Iron Bowl", you know he's full of shite. He's basically admitting it was holding. When that's all you can say, you may as well just STFU.

but there have been some glaring missed calls on you guys. The ones that were called on you Saturday were glaring and could not be left out
Oh please. This is such fricking bullshite. The most glaring missed call was when your WR grabbed our DB by the fricking collar and yanked him out of the way so he could catch the TD pass.
You guys are so full of shite. Seriously. You can't be this fricking stupid.

You can't reason with them because they don't want to be reasoned with. They will pick and choose the missed calls that didn't go their way and ignore the ones that did. When you present them evidence of the whole they will discount it and say "it is the timing of the calls". They are hell bent on being victims because it is easier for them than just admitting they got beat by a better team. It is a coping mechanism as old as the sport itself.

The officiating in favor of the Cow College in the IB was so egregious that the Playoff Committee- a completely neutral unbiased body- completely discounted the outcome of the game.
Goat-faced Gus knew his career was over. He can't win without cheating as this season has shown.

C’mon now. You know their smart enough to track statistics and only “help” in the proper situations. I didn’t read the link so I may be talking out my arse, per usual

This is the "opponent penalties" statistic" The higher you are on this list, the more help you get from the refs.
LSU #15
Bama #39
But..muh narrative
This doesn't really tell us much. This is like saying refs favor basketball teams that shoot the most free throws without considering style of play as a factor.
Is there are any metric that determines false positives and false negatives with penalties, something similar to PITCHf/X for MLB strike zones?

"But...timing of the penalties".

We were too busy kicking that tail to commit penalties.

What this should say is that Bama has all this higher talent, NFL defensive lineman, and they don't get held. This year Bama is 35th. The years before Bama was in the 100's. How does a team with such talent not get holding calls against the team their playing?

I don't know. You have a hypothesis that's probably correct, but hard evidence is lacking.
