Meh, been more average teams at UT since 84 than good ones. Worst performance of the year by our defense. Shameful to have lost that game.

That happens though. It was also a very good performance by our OL. They played above themselves and it allowed our offense to work. They're not talented enough to do that consistently which is why we've been such an up and down team. You just caught us on one of the few Saturdays the OL played like their hair was on fire.

t. Kirby was not overwhelming with the talent UGA has.
We’re about 70% freshmen & sophomores. With a win over Tech, he will have exceeded my preseason expectation which was 10-2.

Beginning of the season you Aubies were saying that we were losing 37 starters on defense and our entire backfield. Now Kirby's not impressive in spite of only one loss on the road to LSU. You Aubies want it both ways.

People seem to forget that Saban had to rebuild his entire Coaching Staff.

Gotta be Ed O at this point. A win over A&M would clinch it.

Yeah, take nothing away from Tennessee. They dominated Kentucky in that game from start to finish. I didn't watch all of their games, but I would guess it was their most complete game of the year.

I’d actually put it something like-
1. Saban- historically great team, rebuilt coaching staff, obvious pick. To not be recognized for this historic season would make COTY meaningless (but I guess it is anyways)
2. Kirby- coaching an extremely young team that lost all of its leadership from last year. Bounced back after a major road disaster. Playing A+ football right when they need to.
3. Stoops- because Kentucky was plying meaningful football during basketball season. They actually had a chance to win the East until the clock started running against UGA
4. Ed O- exceeded expectations but couldn’t quite get it done. All and all a very successful season for him as a coach
5. Mullen- did better than expected after the shark lover destroyed that program but still turned out to be a paper tiger with no meaningful success. Good thumb wrestler though, which bumped him ahead of-
6. Pruitt- congrats, you won an SEC game at UT. The fact that is a thing shows how mad Butch left things

Hell, he's only won the Bear Bryant COTY once.

To me, it should go to the coach who's been able to overcome adversity, injuries, and other intangibles to help his team.
That's an argument for Ed O. Shuffling the offensive line throughout the season, and now injuries to the secondary at safety and corner (starters and backups). The loss of Chaisson, etc...
As far as intangibles, have you seen the offense he's doing this with?
