When healthy, Swift is one of the most dominant talents in all of CFB. His ability to change direction so "swiftly," without losing momentum is eye-opening.
It'll make you say "Whoa!" Kinda like watching Quinnen Williams go through O-lines like he is still in high school.

The easiest answer to any of these questions is someone on Alabama's team.

2 Heisman winning RBs in the last 9 years?
I admit that there is an argument, but UGA hasn't had as many elite RBs as we have. Gurley is probably the best RB in the NFL, so I'll give them that.

Gurley, Michel, Chubb, Swift vs Ingram, Richardson, Yeldon, Henry
Looking at individual talent and ability..easy winner, UGA.
Winning a Heisman is as much a product of the team as it is the individual. Bama has had great backs, but clearly UGA's backs are doing more in the league (sans Swift obviously). I am very interested to see what Najee can do with the bulk of the workload. Dude has some serious talent and skills.

I would have liked to have seen a healthy Swift all year, he is just now getting healthy and not the Oline is banged up lol, but Josh Jacobs is very similar to Swift because he is so versatile and a good receiver but don't think either can lay the claim to it this year unless Swift or Jacobs one go over 1,000 and have an insane YPC average but Snell would be my pick followed by Vaughn

When was the last time the SEC didn't have 2 or 3 (or more) clear-cut elite running backs, the sorts of players that would be the obvious answers to a thread like this? I mean, some of the RBs on RB factories like UGA, Bama, and LSU look pretty damned good but there aren't any Gurleys or Henrys or Fournettes in the SEC right now . At none who are playing at that level yet.

Honestly, this argument seems to be like who is standing on the tallest mountain. The differences is inches, at best, and depending on which angle you're looking, both of them can look like they have the best case.

You forgot Lacy, and Drake.
And with the exception of Gurley, I disagree.

Besides Gurley, this isn't correct at all.
And say you want about the Heisman, but they don't give it to just anybody.

I'm trying to remember the other RB that was supposed to be a 1-2 punch tandem with Gurley but got eclipsed. I'm blanking. UGA fans?

Okay, yeah, that's it. Thanks. For some reason, I was thinking that both names started with 'G' so I was trying to remember by saying 'Gurley and G...."

I didn't forget. They just didn't make the cut.

I'd personally take Chubb and Michel over any of those 4 Bama backs. My preference, of course.

Again, the Heisman is just as much a product of the team as the individual. More often than not, the Heisman goes to the best statistical player on one of the elite teams. I'm not sure why anyone would objectively think Mark Ingram is better than Gurley, Chubb, or Michel. To each their own, though.

I get Drake, but why wouldn't Lacy make the cut? He had a season as a featured back and was one of the best in the country.

Because he was a flash in the pan. If he had the ability to discipline himself, he would be right up there because he is very talented.

Lacy flamed out after his first couple of years, but he did win OROTY, and was better than both Michel or Chubb in their first years.
And Drake didn't make the cut, yet has had a better year so far than Chubb, and Michel? Interesting.

I respect your opinion, but I doubt you would find many other people that share it.

Gurley, yeah. But why wouldn't someone objectively think that Mark Ingram is better than Michel, or Chubb? He was at least as good as those guys in college, and is nearing the Saints all time rushing mark, all while playing in a pass happy offense where they rarely gave them the ball his first several years in the league. They have a looooong way to go to even be in the discussion of being better than Ingram.

All the players being mentioned had 1-2 good years in college, mainly because they played back-up for other players being mentioned. If we're considering NFL careers as well, then you'll have to re-examine several of these, especially Richardson. Lacy did pretty much what the rest of the RBs named did in college.

Vaughn should be getting 15+ carries a game.

As I said in my last post, Lacy would be up there but my list is current. Lacy is a non-factor now.

He is a third year player in the league, as opposed to two rookies. Drake is a good back, but I don't see him on the same level as the other backs we've been discussing.

To each their own. I try not to speak absolutely, everything I say is only my opinion.

Ingram has been the beneficiary of great systems, IMO. If we are going by talent and ability as of now, I'll take those two Georgia rookies to build my stable, especially Chubb.

Fair point. You could switch Richardson and Lacy.
Richardson was ridiculous his last year at Bama, and that impression has stuck with me.
