1. Great win from our Tigers!! They finally got over the hump and beat a ranked team in the Odom era.

2. I was freaking out after the UK loss too but the team's record is where I expected it to be when I made predictions at the beginning of the season. I think I was just hoping that this team would exceed my expectations.

3. Stop comparing BO to GP. I know he worked for GP and he's the first coach since GP. However, they both inherited completely different scenarios. GP took over a program who had a culture of losing, was happy to be 6-6, and make it to a bowl game. BO took over a team who went to 4 conference championship games in the 10 years before he took over. Plus, he had to follow the coach who won the most games in program history.

4. My opinion of Barry Odom as a coach is still up in the air. I wanted him gone after the UK debacle but winning cures every thing. The bottom line is that he's improved the team every year since he's been the coach. Again, I think we expected a lot from the program because of their success under GP. BO got the team to win all of their non-conference games and beat a top 15 team on the road. Both are a first for him. I get that we have the talent to be 7-2 right now but "the bounces" haven't gone our way in a few games. He can still finish with 9 wins if they win out and win a bowl game. You can't be mad at a guy who has improved the team every season under his watch.

5. Drew Lock doesn't suck. I've seen the comments that Drew Lock "sucks" a few times on this board. You don't break school and conference records if you suck That's all I'll say about that.

Seriously though, the team is right where I predicted them to be at the beginning of the season. I'm a nerd and keep track of such things.

Ok, I'm done ranting. Here's to 4 more wins!!!!

It should be up in the air with regards to Odom. It was a win over a paper tiger but he still needs to win out. A loss to UT, Vandy or Arky will be worse than the UK or USC losses.

I was on the BO fire train myself after UK. That being said, I took a step back and took a breath. If you think about it, we're extremely close to being 7-2 / 8-1 right now. Yes, he should have coached himself into 2 wins with UK and USCe, that being said we're trending in the right direction.

Also, the other side of the coin? Who the f*ck are we going to get that would do a better job? He is not a Kim Anderson. Give him a chance and let him build his vision. He deserves that much.

Agree 100% with both responses. The real test will be, what the hell do we do next year when we have an inexperienced QB?

I consider myself on the Odom train, but im hanging on with one hand as my feet drag.

Florida was obviously a great win, but a loss to Tenny or arky erases that. Here is my updated odom/job equation.

Win out = 100% safe
Win 2 of the 3 =90%
win one of the 3 = 50%
lose all three = he gone

I agree with you for the most part, I'm concerned that this is Odom's peak. This team he has right now is loaded and next year's class won't be.

they still have plenty of talent hanging around next year. Schedule is also a tad bit easier.

Win 2=100% safe.
Win 1=85% safe.
Win 0=20% safe.

Next year will be a true test. Let's just hope we're all not screaming "Is B-Ball here yet?" -- at this point next year. Win out and send Lock to the NFL on a good note.

For all we know, Sterk has talked to Barry and told him he's coming back whatever happens here on out.

But I think if he loses out or wins just one, he's likely gone.

But...what do I know?

Absolutely.

I haven't burned the Barry Odom bridge, but its smoldering... with heavy smoke.

Florida is not a 11th ranked team or a 20th ranked team which I believe they are now. But they were ranked and congrats to HCBO and crew !!

I hope HCBO is the answer but you cannot lose to South Carolina and Kentucky the way we did. Period. I believe on the on side kick Missouri had two players off side on the side where the on kick went. If that is the case then 3 people mistook the signal for onside kick. By the way why in the hell is there a signal from the sideline on any kickoff?!?!?

Hopefully HCBO has figured out what coaching is and has it go forward.

Most of what I don't like about Odom has to do with his clock and in-game management skills.

What I like about him is he understands you can't be conservative on offense - a huge hurdle for many defensive side head coaches. His teams are physical, don't get pushed around and are resilient. They could have folded their tent at 1-5 last year or after nut cup losses (especially after Kentucky) and they came out and destroyed a ranked Florida on the road.

We'll see what he does as the last Pinkel players cycle out, but I think he understands how Mizzou needs to make their bread and butter in recruiting. So it's a matter of incremental improvement year over year.

He's not a magnetic personality or polished speaker as the front man for the program so that works against him . And something about his intensity or personality has rubbed fellow coaches wrong, but who knows what? Nick Saban is intense and doesn't come a people person either, but the winning covers all flaws.

I was happy with the Odom hire since he could be a Mizzou lifer if he gets it right. It's just enduring the growing pains that suck.

Did you know he had to replaced the OC? Many in the SEC were laughing at Missouri hiring of Dooley. I said got to give Missouri time to build the program Odom's way. It takes time and a first time OC is not easy to do and playing in the SEC is harder too. But I knew he did this the right way. Got to give Odom time to build the foundation. I think he will do a little better than Gary Pinkel have done at Missouri. Pinkel was a head coach elsewhere and was more than qualify to take over but it took time to turn the team around. Odom came in as a first timer as a head coach at the college level. That did not look good on paper. Right now we can forgive a few more hiccups as long his team is making progress from the year before. I do see progress this year and I like the balance offense than Heupel ran it. Many on here complain about the poor running game against SEC teams. This year is a lot better. Give it more time to get more key players and get everyone to get comfortable with the system. It does not take over night or a few games. Now we have a first hand knowledge what Odom and Dooley are doing on Defense and Offense. The off season should be easier and player will be more comfortable and not be making mistakes as they were doing earlier this year.

I didn’t not know that he replaced the offensive OC. Was the newspapers and other medium told therefor about this? Do you think if that then he will do it again?

What I saw from the Kentucky game was that Kentucky defense caught Missouri off guard. That was without Hall. But thought they could still win the game. Missouri did win the game but the ref gave it to Kentucky. Then Missouri was looking bad on offense against a great defense team. Florida saw it and thought they are beatable and they should be fine. That caught them off guard when Hall was back and was the difference maker and the offense was much better than all of the games played so far this year. Even the announcers were saying it was a total different team than that played Kentucky a week before. Some times coaches do not want to give away some game plan for the next game. I think that was the game plan.

Great responses from every one.

Another thing......

You can forget the "Mizzou can't beat a team with a pulse" narrative. That Purdue win looks better and better each week. They've now beaten 3 teams that were ranked at the time they played them. Memphis is more than likely a bowl team. Wyoming can get to a bowl if they beat Air Foce and New Mexico. Vandy will still have a shot at a bowl even if we beat them (Ole Miss & Vols).
