After handicapping this for days, I am taking LSU and the points. I am a contrarian handicapper first and foremost and there are WAY too many on Bama.

The home field advantage is huge here and it is going to be beyond crazy with all the venom seeded so deeply in Tiger Stadium. If I’m not mistaken, Bama hasn’t won in Baton Rouge by this type number since Denise Franphony took the Tide down there and whipped Saban up 31-0 (How the HELL did THAT happen?!?).

Bama will be able to block LSU’s front giving Tua time to throw but I see LSU’s DB’s creating problems for Bama’s receivers that are used to running free because of the competition they have faced. Their quality win was against A&M but even their secondary is atrocious.

Look for DC Aranda to play mostly man coverage on the outside while mixing in some zone blitzes at times. LSU will try to slow the game down on offense, taking their time getting up to the line while Burrow will play an efficient game with short passes and screens against Bama blitzes chewing up clock.

Harris and Jacobs will be the ones that win this game for Bama when it becomes apparent that LSU keeps too much focus on Tua and the pass.

Bama 30
LSU 22

All LSU has to do is have their DBs cover the WRs. Their WRs are not world beaters and if they aren't wide open Tua isn't going to beat them just slinging it up JFF style. If it comes down to Bama's RBs then Bama won't win.

Saban ALWAYS plays this game uptight and close to the vest.

Yes, the running backs will win it.

Uh... Alabama has the best top to bottom wide receiver corps in the country...

The RB's have looked average so far though

Sprint.freaking.draw all the way down the field and Saban never adjusted because he always thought Fran would pass. That was the last scoring drive of the first half of that game, but it was emblematic of the whole game.

Fran just outcoached him.

You believe Tua has just been slinging it up this season, with no regards for where it goes? Over half of his TDs this year say otherwise.

Never said Saban didn’t but these guys haven’t faced press man coverage against these type athletes either.

Saban will play this conservatively.

Still believe the 77 yd td pass to Waddle in the last game was one of the most insane throws ever.

Compared to who they've been up against and them not doing much great to make any plays, yeah. Average WRs in the sec can catch balls in stride and when wide open.

As for RBs, they haven't been impressive when teams haven't quit. Which isn't great again considering who they've played.

No question about it and Tua is the best college passing QB I have seen since Brees at Purdue and Manning at Tennessee.

I agree with your post Husssss. I think that's the probable outcome and way the game plays out.
