Anyone freak out or what? Lol, anyone change lanes? I personally think for the most part, cops are the good guy and are not out to get us. I won't lie though, I think about changing lanes if I can.

It's ok I've gone on post tangents before and the least we can do is humor a veteran. He served for our country after all.

Thanks for your service sir, that being said it's ok to pace your posts. Now for me.....if I'm in front of a cop I slowly get rid of the cocaine and booze :0)

Yea, literally most people. There's been studies done on this, and it doesn't matter what your race, age range, or financial background is, all demographics tend to tense up and get nervous at the same rates when a cop pulls up behind you.

It's a natural reaction to authority figures, even if you have no reason to he nervous.

I just look down and make sure I'm not too far over the speed limit, and then gradually slow down a bit if needed, and get in another lane as soon as I can.

I usually tense up and mind my p's and q's like anyone but I'm not sure there's a point. Every time I've been pulled over it's been by a cop hiding in a highway cutaway or grabbing me from a side street, never when they've been following directly behind me.

Let's be clear. A police officer's main role is to bring in revenue to his department. They will rarely pass up an opportunity to ticket someone.

I haven't had a speeding ticket in years, I think that last one was about $93 or so as I recall. I see them in the local paper now at $300 plus. There is the real crime.

An Alabama state trooper told me he would get behind an obvious speeder and see how long it took for him to check his rear view mirror.

Said some would go several miles and then slow down or take the next exit.

He said that never worked.

Does a cop really know if you’re checking your mirror?

PD’s get some revenue off of tickets but not SO’s. SO’s get a little if people have to spend time in jail. In my County if you aren’t doing something worth going to jail, have a revoked or suspended license, or straight up be a dick to the deputy then you’re not likely to get a ticket.

I have heard troopers say that it is engrained in their minds that ticketing people prevents wrecks from happening. I don’t understand their thinking on that.

I shite you not; I'm coming to a stop at light which just turned red this morning and a unit pulls up behind me.

This did not bother me, but the guy or lady in the lane next to me either did freak out, didn't give a shite or was completely out of it... but as soon as that office pulled up behind me, the car next to me makes a U-turn (thru a red light).

I'm like "WTF are you doing?". There's obviously a cop right here. That was such blatantly bad decision making, I'm really glad that driver was probably removed from the road. He or she would've likely endangered themselves or someone else.
