Why practice Noland at 2nd String if you're not going to play him?

I don't care what the reasoning is... You can't let Kelley ever... Ever come into the game except on goal line/short yardage plays.

This is yet another horrendous loss and blown double digit 4th qtr lead

Yeah it was a perfect storm. Boyd gets hurt then Whaley then Storey and they play the quarterback who can’t count to ten.

This one hurts because we probably win going away with Storey and Boyd in the whole game. Maybe even Whaley and Storey. Chase Hayden can’t stop dancing in the back field and when you couple him with Kelley then you’re going to lose.

If I'm Noland, I'm going to Chazz' office tommorrow and sit him down and just fault ask him what the frick is going on.

That's some straight up Houston Nutt type stuff where you end up in a conference with a players parents and the AD.

you want to give him 2nd string reps for the future. you don't want to blow his confidence. I agree with the qb decision making in the game. we lost and it sucks but let Noland get better. The defense just had to stop a team from their 3 yard line and we win.

Development without wasting a year of eligibility on a throw away season.

Yep. Agree with it or not, Noland stayed on the bench so he could redshirt this year.

True but doesn’t he have like 3 games left to play in? But I get not putting him back there without Boyd or Whaley.

Because you don’t want to lose his redshirt.

Chad made the right call. Chads contract is longer than one year. While fans are short sighted, coaches aren’t.

How though? He’s only played in 1 game so far right? Still has 3 left.

That’s not the rule.

It’s the first 4 games of the season...then the redshirt is lost.

If Storey is out next week, assume he has concussion, I’m hoping Noland starts.

You sure about that? Pretty sure I remember national radio guys talking about how a player could like Tua sitiuation wouldn’t burn a year with the new rule.

100% positive.

It’s why Kelly Bryant announced his transfer after game 4.

It’s why the national media was buzzing about Hurts NOT redshirting at Bama.

It’s why we had players announce transferring after game 4 during the season.

They can all redshirt and in Hurts case, he couldn’t.

Pretty sure it’s any 4 games now. That’s the change they made to the rule this year. 247 has a running weekly article on who can still redshirt because they’ve played less than 5 games and who can’t becaue they’ve hit the threshold.

The NCAA passed new legislation in the offseason that allows players who play in up to four games -- regardless of when they take place -- to redshirt for that season and preserve a year of eligibility.

This was on several sites and articles. See point about regardless of when they take place. Hurts was only relevant cause he’d PLAYED in a 5th game. Dabo did Bryant a solid so he could start looking for other places now.

I was under the impression it was the first four weeks.

McCleskey(sp) also announced plans to transfer after week 4 from Oklahoma State.

Regarding Bryant, Dabo seemed to indicate he had no idea Kelly would transfer until Bryant told him through text.

I still stick by not playing Noland, either way. The season is a wash. We saw Noland against North Texas and he looked a bit overwhelmed.
