His QB Rating year by year

2016 (FR) - 140.0
2017 (SO) - 130.7
2018 (JR) - 131.1

From the outside looking in it SEEMS like he has better playmakers around him and a better scheme than he had his freshman year. And yet, he seems to be the same or worse as a QB. After 2016 a whole lot of talent people were saying he had a shot to be an early pick in the 2019 draft. Now, he's barely even a middle of the pack QB in the SEC.

Was his talent overstated? Bad development? Story yet to be written? What's the story there?

Will Muschamp ruins the QB position like Gus Malzahn.

No. Just no. Not the coaches fault. He was over rated. That’s the long and short of it. Good kid but not what we had hoped.

He looked pretty good against us and was the victim of multiple dropped passes.Thought he looked considerably worse vs UK.

He’s got flashes of being a good QB but for some reason he just can’t consistently put it all together.

He’s never shown up in big games. The only reason his QBR was better in 2016 was because he played half a season.
