The amount of people who just straight up do not want to see Fields to get time on the field is amazing to me.
Although I do start to wonder if he's just that bad, because if he was as good as his performance in his limited action would lead you to think, then you have to believe that there would have been moments in two first halfs where your starter was playing extremely poorly that he would've gotten a chance that was more than one goal-line rushing attempt. He must be a very bad practice player, it's the only real explanation.

He’s played in every game we’ve had so far....hell...he played almost half the game last week. Did you consider that maybe Fromm is “off” because he hasn’t played more than 3 qtrs of a game all season?
Did you watch the game yesterday? What drive did you want the freshman QB in where an int or fumble wouldn’t have been a big deal?

Yeah those with an axe to grind against Fields are suspect. Fields hasn’t had a bad showing yet in a game - looked good in spring practice, against AP and MTSU - granted against lower level competition.
To me, it’s not a “Fields vs Lawrence “ thing as much as it is that both the reality and the politics of both situations are markedly different.
1) UGA: Fresh/Soph, Clemson: Sr/Fresh
2) UGA’s tenured starter is better than Clemson’s
3) UGA schedule and division is not a walkover like Clemsons
4) UGA defense not as veteran and stable as Clemson’s
To me, all four of those factor into the difference in how Kirby handles his QBs versus how Dabo does.
I would expect Fields to continue to get 2nd halves of games in blowouts and get mixed in from time to time in 1st half.
Fields role will likely expand some as we progress through the season. Against AU defense and presumably BAMA in SECCG, Dawgs will need Fields skill set and dual threat.
Further, I would imagine Fields family and Fields himself desires to get enough playing time this year so Fields can go into 2019 offseason believing he is seasoned enough to legitimately compete for starting position.
As good as Fromm is, Fields is more talented and he deserves the chance to compete on equal footing in 2019 - to do that, he’s got to be presented with earned opportunities (in practice) to play more than cursory amount the rest of the way - if he feels he isn’t being given a fair shot, he will just transfer.
