I thought he was one of the worst hires in the last decade.

The man's come along way as a coach, and add that to a coach being at a place he absolutely loves and look out.

LSU has the best defensive coordinator in the country IMO.

Shouldn't he get credit for keeping him?

I have to admit I was, too. I think many of us in The Boot were. Hope he keeps the O Train rolling. This weekend was the last time I don't give him the benefit of the doubt that he does actually know what he's doing.

I just wanna know...what was in that damn binder??

Keeping him or relying on the AD to pay him more than any other DC in the country.

I know the trolling will never end with O because, let’s face it, it’s pretty easy. But he saw blatant holes and went and fixed them. Needed a QB and K. Needed help at LB, DL and OL. Miles let both lines go to shite his last 3 years. We finally have a roster fit to compete with the top teams in the country. He is the one directly responsible for that.

One page with big letters in bold, “don’t turn the ball over and you have a chance in every game”

It's not a bad strategy honestly.

One of the national sports writers said in an article that you may beat this LSU team this year, but you're going to do it on your own with no help from them beating themselves. I thought that seemed pretty spot on.

Now you are 100% wrong.

Ed will never win more than 10 games at LSU

He will lose 3+ this year and be fired by the end of the 2020 season.

Aranda's leaving one day and that hire will define O's tenure here. He's lucky Miles brought in the best DC in the country.

I credit O for keeping him, but the OC hire was questionable. If the next DC hire is questionable, then O won't be here for the long haul.

If you look at it objectively, Orgeron is probably 10th at best in the SEC as far as a coaching resume’s is concerned. This was a very risky hire for LSU & the jury is still out. The start of the season has been positive but this schedule even excluding Bama (mark that as an L) is brutal. But I like the fact that he’s letting his coordinators coach & game plan and his players are buying in. Inking Burrow and the FG kicker has been huge so far.

He plan was to bring in the best younger assistants and let them coach, the CEO-Miles model. But then Canada and Aranda hated each other’s guts, and it looked like it would take full four years for our guys to learn Canada’s system, which would be moot as O would be fired before then.

He is a great recruiter and motivational coach.

It is better when you let them think they can win. Just play along.
