Being an Ole Miss fan sucks (a melt thread by Landmass)

It is what it is.
We could be so much better but we can't get out of our own way. We make eternally stupid coaching moves. When we do have a good coach, we let the NCAA run roughshod over us for a bunch of minuscule violations that pale in comparison to everyone else cheating around us. We have a little brother than is always in our ear and cares more about destroying Ole Miss than they do about promoting MSU. We taste success and piss it away. We have no identity anymore; from changing songs and mascots, symbols, and traditions... of course we space this out every couple of years so that we get to remind the entire nation what happened in 1962. It doesn't matter. We win the party, I get it. But it would be nice to be able to watch a decent football team that doesn't piss away a loss to the Memphis Tigers those years for some damn reason. I'm tired of watching shitty football. (Believe me, this team is only going to get worse and worse.) But I'm not a weak bitch like Alabama fans that support them simply because they are good. I just want a good season now and then and not the roller-coaster ride of being mediocre in good seasons and being shittastic in bad seasons.

There won’t be 10 open SEC jobs this offseason. We should be able to get a better candidate without NCAA riding our arse. Matt Luke served his purpose getting us past the NCAA mess brought on by Freeze.

We're the better program since the mid 90s. In every major sport. I'm 40 - and I was barely a teenager since this could even be argued. You're crowning achievement in those 20-25 years is keeping us from possibly backdooring a playoff spot in 2014. Just accept it already.

It amazes me that OM still clings to this. It’s a testament to their administration and OM media that they have convinced y’all of this.

I dont. Can't speak for everyone (but apparently you can). I'd be ecstatic for Ole Miss to go 11-1. As long as we are 12-0.
As historically average as we both are, it's much easier for one of us to be "up" while the other is "down" though. There's no denying that. And having USM as a SWAC level doormat helps us both, at least a little (depth wise).
