Tonight’s Missouri defense is what you get when you have the #47 in 2016, #49 in 2017, #39 in 2018 #54 in 2019 recruiting class.
And among the SEC schools, Missouri is next to last in recruiting class rank, 3 out of the last 4 years.
This won't cut it...
Odom and staff failure in recruiting dooms his fate and the near future of the program.

I agree! Mizzou has no chance to ever win again.
Let's cancel the football program and bulldoze the stadium. We can turn it into a Quiditch field.

This is what I’ve been saying all along. We got 1 out of the top 9 players in Missouri last year? Odom should be fired based on the results in recruiting alone. It’s like watching kimbo trying to recruit all over again. Sooner or later, it’s going to catch up to Odom. Probably starting after TBJ and Lock leave this year, which by the way, Gary P recruited

I love how people bitch about Mizzou not having SEC crowds, but when posters here act like SEC fans we get criticized. SEC fans are critical in wins and defeats. SEC fans want to fire coaches and coordinators after every game. SEC fans question recruiting regardless of rank.
The problem is a few posters here still have a Big 8 mentality. A win is a win no matter how mediocre the team performs. SEC fans know better. If you accept last night's defensive performance, I suggest you join a Texas Tech board. Here in the SEC defense reigns supreme, and this shift is NOT acceptable.

First, you’re right. Despite what we’re told, stars matter. And the difference between the 20th best class and the 45th is a big deal.
Secondly, Odom isn’t going the splashy recruiting route in building a program. We aren’t going to make quantum leaps with him as coach. We might get to 8-5 with a bowl game this year. We may be 7-7. And then we’ll regress next year and maybe be a little better the following year.
This is a long haul deal. The question really is “is this guy capable of putting a strong P5 defense on the field?” So far, all answers point to no.

Agree 100%, Mizzou is getting ready to start SEC play and with Georgia next week, South Carolina, Alabama coming up. With that defense last night no way Mizzou will survive for a minute. Yall saw what happened to Ole Miss, all offense and no defense and Bama killed them!

Y'all realize that when we lose to Georgia our season is not over correct?
You also realize that college football is a very week to week game. It is possible that the pass defense plays a lot better the rest of the year.

Most Mizzou fans are happiest when they are miserable. It's their comfort zone. I honestly think some of these guys would have rather lost last night. It's a very weird dynamic but it's definitely present.
Purdue was playing for their season last night. We took their very best shot and still beat them in their own house.
Does the Pass D have significant problems? You bet your arse. Can it play a lot better than it did last night. Of course, and it will have to.

The thing about recruiting is that based on recruiting rankings that should be the best unit. Lee and Beckner are 4 stars recruited by GP. Since BO took over he has added Williams, Elliott, and Byers as 4 star DL recruits.
You would think that the DL would be able to get pressure, but haven’t been able to win 1 on 1 battles.

Gee I didn't realize any of that, thanks for filling me in. Your tune sure has changed though since last nights game when it comes to Georgia. All your bravado and "baw" talk has disappeared. Should we expect some leading up to the game?
