My favorite college town in the country is Boulder, Co. Fort Collins is also an awesome town, but Boulder just has more to offer imo.
I’ve been to a few towns like Norman, Ok, Tallahassee, FL and I would say they aren’t my favorite college towns but both schools party and would fun for a Saturday in the fall.
I’ve heard great things about State College, Madison, and Ann Arbour but haven’t gotten a chance to go to any of these. What are some college towns y’all have been to that you thought were great towns?

Madison, Bloomington, State College,
South Bend, on the other hand is terrible. I was disappointed.

I think that is a great idea. App State is a quality G5 team and Boone is a gorgeous town. Its right in your back yard as well.

Madison as a bunch of others have said. They are some beer drinking fools up there. I got more than a few weird looks when I asked for bourbon. Was told the crowd I was around wasn't into liquor, just slamming beer.
Went to a frat function one time in Bowling Green, KY at WKU. That was one of the best experiences of my college career. And had waaayy hotter girls than you would ever think.

Only non-SEC college town I've been to, that I can recall, is South Bend.
Place blows arse. Thought I was caught up in an all white rendition of 8 Mile. Bet those frickers nutted themselves hard over the new Em album this month.

I've been to South Bend and its like they emptied every trailer park in the Midwest and put them in nasty public housing.
I went with some friends of mine who were checking out Notre Dame for college and we all agreed that as great of a school as ND is supposed to be there is no way we'd live in South Bend.
Madison is a great town, very friendly folks there. I liked Harrisonburg (James Madison University) but that was a long, long time ago so I have no idea what the area is like now.

Not sure if serious. I lived in Macon for about a year, and it blows. Maybe I never found the college vibe there.

Twice in this thread now that Tempe has been mentioned.
Don't get me wrong, Mill Ave and Tempe Town Lake are fun places to visit and look at some tail, but I wouldn't consider it a 'college town'.
Before you know it you're either in Mesa, Phoenix or Scottsdale without any change of view.
Living next to UofA (Arizona), it has more of a 'college town' vibe.
Enough of all that, Madison, Boone, Flagstaff and Corvallis were surprisingly fun.
