The Truth about South Carolina's "Scene"

South Carolina has an off-campus stadium in the abandoned factory district of Columbia.
It's a ten minute drive from campus.
Because there's only 6 or 7 home games a year, little business has sprung up around it. What are they supposed to do the other 359 days out of the year?
So fans have no cool bars to go to, no cool "joints", just parking lots.
Bring your own tent. Bring your own cooler. Bring $100 to park. Bring your own food.
Except for the elite, it's a desolate shithole out of Breaking Bad. You'll see a methlymine train robbery out of the cockaboose before you'll see a pre/post-game bar or restaurant to hang out in.
And try not to get stabbed walking to your car 2 miles away at night after the game in the abandoned capital city factory district. Batman won't be dropping in to save you.

Can you at least see the mountains or a lake from campus?

Thats the one SEC venue I have no desire to visit. I've heard very bad things.

Wanna know how I know you've never actually been to a game at the Billy Brice?

10 minute drive? What do you do? Drive 10mph forward 10 feet and then back up 5ft repeatedly until you arrive? No way in hell does it take 10 minutes.

Let's test this theory on you. I'm hoping you're right.

As Confucius once said to a particular dumb young disciple ... Ho Li Fuk u so fuking dumb.
lol, you're really going to let some dumbass talk or Internet rumors talk you our of visiting one of the most beautiful campuses, beautiful stadiums and tailgaiting, in the league.
Good. It'd be better if you didn't visit. We've got enough simpletons visiting every other year when the sheep humping sister bangers come down here for a game.

There is so much bull shite in this post I don't know where to begin. Posts like these remind us Gamecocks why you frickers are perhaps even more obnoxious than our cousins in the Upstate.

Loose Cockaboose, River Rat Brewery and whatever the old Jaco's has turned into are at least 3 bars at the stadium. This doesn't even include Doc's, which serves alcohol as well.

Downtown Athens is a high crime area.
I would say Columbia especially around the football stadium is much safer than downtown Athens.

Three breweries all within walking distance, a few good places to eat, a couple of bars, and plenty of good places to set up a tailgate.
We do, however, expect people to bring their own car and tickets. And yes, if you'd like to tailgate at your car, you should bring your own shite. If you weren't a dickhead, I'm sure you would be welcomed to visit with people at their spots.

Nothing like parking lot tailgating and abandoned buildings to get you in the mood for a big time football game.
