Jimbo Fisher lost nine home games in eight seasons at FSU; largest loss was by 11, and his final five home losses were by a total of 18. FSU lost by 21 tonight -- its largest home loss since 2008.

that whole "talent alone wins at FSU" argument immediately going tailspin.

It was Virginia Tech's first win in Tallahassee since 1974. That would be like TCU winning at Kyle Field.

Ehh, that was also only the 8th time VT has been to Tallahassee since 1974 and just the 2nd time since 2000. They haven't been in the same conference for all that long and they are in different divisions in the ACC.

Since 2000 VT and FSU have actually played in just as many bowls and ACC title games against each other as they have had games in Tallahassee.

For comparison, A&M has a 24 game win streak vs TCU with 23 of those coming in SWC play ('73-'95) and the single bowl win ('01).

It's not really an apples to apples comparison IMO.

Either way, it's silly to overreact to a season opener w/a new staff, new system and a QB coming back from a major injury playing against one of the best DCs in CFB.
