1.Neither qb was given enough passing plays to have me feeling very confident with that component. Monds eyes stayed laser locked on every target and Clemson would have easily intercepted several of those. I find myself asking how ready is Blumrick....

2. Defense played well but pressure on the qb is a problem. Really nervous about this one

3. O-line did well after settling down, but can they block and create gaps in Clemson’s line?

4. If I had a jar to fill it would be over our 2 running backs. Williams and Etwi. Nice

5. Forgot about TE was there a rule change this year ? Are they allowed to play now? It was refreshing

I hope for steady improvement but next week will be nasty, Dabo will be looking to humiliate an SEC team and Jimbo is icing on the cake for him

We rushed 4 all night and NWST was getting the ball out immediately every play. Every time they tried anything more than a screen, slant or flare the QB was running for his life. That’s why teams like this never score much on decent FBS teams, they can’t protect long enough to consistently threaten them downfield.

Clemson and SEC teams will open themselves up to more potential sacks when using more traditional route combinations.

Yeah, Sarge, that’s a puzzler coming from you.

Just have a hard time getting behind Mond. He was fine last night but that's about it. Perhaps his mobility is giving him the edge for Jimbo... Really don't get this.

Defense... not sure we learned that much. They did stuff the run but the lack of QB pressure was apparent.

Honestly don't think I know much more about this team after last night than I knew about it before kickoff.

while i agree that i am still not feeling confident about how mond will play against clemson, or alabama, or any other SEC team, i dont think i would go that far. mond legitimately looks better even if that still really isnt enough which is definitely a positive takeaway for 2019 and 2020. we have to remember how awful he looked last years vs nichols. it was night and day compared to last night. he definitely is nowhere near where he needs to be, but hes made legitimate improvevements

even with this being the case we still consistently brought legit pressure. think people are overreacting to this one

NWSU had the worst defensive line i have ever seen. so im not counting on this

I think the oline issues last night were a failure to recognize and adjust protection presnap. That and trayveon whiffed on a pickup.
The defense was very basic and looks decent. No clear blown coverages except the 3rd string guy who fell down. D line will be alright. Like was me tioned above anything more than a quick hiiter and their qb was on the move. Really like hiw we controlled the line. Has not been the cas even against fcs teams much in the past few years.

BAS.

We have had bad teams that have lit up lesser opponents, so I get why so many of you guys are slow to go positive. But in that past when we have lit up lesser opponents, it was through the air, and it involved getting turnovers. We didn't force a single turnover or get a single special team score last night. We showed both power running and precise passing. Defensively, we were sound. Everything about last night was positive, with the exception of pass protection on a few plays.

We're still going to lose to Clemson and Bama, but we'll fight them both, and keep it close.

I thought Mond looked incredibly sharp.

Elko's defense doesn't rely on pressure,

We beat the Vegas spread, that's a positive. Were better than projected regardless of opponent.

I don’t know why people are down voting. It’s a realistic assessment.

I agree with 1 in that I’m not confident in either QB. Blumrick isn’t playing tho lol. Sternberger looks like he should be a good one. Those were really the only two things I took from last night

I'm not worried about QBs. I'm a little concerned with corner, I'm worried about OL and WR

Season ticket holder in the south zone. Mond's accuracy last night was impressive. Zero turnovers. He played very well. It was an old school Alabama QB styled game. No mistakes, let the running game takeover, throw it to open things up and again don't make mistakes. The result going forward is going to change based upon the level of competition but this is our recipe. If Mond continues on his current trajectory he could be really good.

Was at the game. DVRd it so will watch it tonight or tomorrow. I guess I think Starkel would have lit that secondary completely up.

Freely admit that I am a much bigger fan of Starkel. Will watch it again. Maybe you are right.
