I agree with you
If Gus gets 10+ W this season, I'd easily grade him as "success" thus far and optimistic about the future of AU football

I've never got off the Gus bus. I'll criticize his driving at times, but I'm still here for the ride

Gus has accomplishments that Peterson wont achieve anytime soon.

Petersen has almost identical results as Gus at Washington, a program with significantly less resources, poorer recruiting access and prestige as Auburn.

So if I grade Gus as a success, Petersen is killing it is all.

I'm just not seeing it. One is not head and shoulders above the other.

i doubt that. Its been said before. You will just move that mark again just like everyone has in the past

Less resources to beat teams like Colorado and BYU. Gus is competing against the top teams in the country every year. In the same state / recruiting area as the most decorated program and coach in NCAA history. During their prime

He is not beating Colorado and BYU that is ranked 21st

While this is true, you also have to factor in UW has played a much easier schedule during that same time period. Since Gus has been at Auburn, the average SOS rank is 7.6. Whereas since Petersen has been at UW the average SOS is 61. I know SOS is not an exact stat, but that is a huge disparity that even with you factor in a significant margin or error, still leaves a large gap.

FWIW I think they are pretty darn comparable and when you factor in their regional ties, it gets even more dicey.
