LSUs' administration always listens to the fans. Bertman didn't but the current regime does. They will hire Kiffin because the school wants to please the fans.They will regret that move immensely.
When LSU hired Saban they hired a disciplined, hard arse, successful coach that raised eyebrows. We all knew they had hit the jackpot.
If they want to replicate that they go after David Shaw. Period, end of story. Defense, run the ball, physical coach. Arnsparger, Saban, Miles style of play. LSU has great skill players. When they combine that with a coach that compliments that with defense, great line play and running the ball, they are pretty good.

You're not very informed. Yes Saban was disciplined etc but the hire wasn't lauded across the southern media. In fact, LSU was ridiculed for spending so much on a guy who had one good season at Michigan State.
Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel, then a writer in Jacksonville, laughed that Saban called it the Southeast Conference rather than the Southeastern Conference. Most thought LSU overreached in hiring Saban.
It was Mark Emmert who realized that Nick something special and made the hire. People weren't beating down Saban's door back in 1999.

I just love getting on this forum and see people who don't know squat about college football. Just because Alabama has been successful in football does not make your fan base a know it all, especially with other SEC football programs. When LSU hired Saban everyone ridiculed and laughed at LSU. LSU had beaten Saban in the prestigious Independence bowl a few years prior with Dinardo as LSU's coach. Saban could not even beat the big boys in the Big 10 conference. Nobody was beating down his door. LSU saw potential in him and he saw potential in LSU. Alabama would of NEVER hired him back in 1999 and if you say different your a moron!!
