Herm Edwards in the SEC

Edwards is one of the top names that gets floated around when people start talking vacancies. Let's say, for example, Eddie O fizzles out at LSU. Odds Herm Edwards takes the reigns and also succeeds? I'm not a betting man, but the odds are in Herm's favor.

I’ve literally never heard Herm Edwards name for any job except the one he has. Is he a good coach now?

After what he has done with ASU, I don't think anyone considers him a candidate for the SEC. Maybe ACC.

Why would a longtime nfl coach randomly take the job at Arizona state at age 64? It makes no sense.

The AD at ASU was Herm's agent when he was coaching in the NFL.
I think there was an article in Athlon where the AD insisted they weren't just a couple of old buddies coasting into retirement together. That it even needed addressing seems troublesome.
