But Aggy was exponentially more vocal about Texas than any other former or current Big 12 fanbase. Because they were/are your biggest rival.

No, we did that because we needed all that racket for political cover when leaders in Texas wanted to tie us to the fates of programs like Baylor and Texas Tech. It was a close call for us because of them, as the Baylor lawsuit shows.

We got it boiled down to “they got their toy (LHN) and we want ours (SEC)!” which was a dialect politicians could understand. And because Texas took their toy without asking any of them if it was ok it only seemed fair that we had to get our toy too.

And it’s worked out great, our toy had been way better.

Meh:

SEC teams that play an annual P5 team that's within their state and outside their conference:

Georgia: GaTech
Florida: FSU
South Carolina: Clemson
Kentucky: Louisville

Teams within their state but in the same conference:
AU/UA
UT/Vandy
OM/MSU

Team that won't play a P5 team that's within their state:

Only Texas A&M:

TAMU won't play- TCU
TAMUwon't play- Baylor
TAMU won't play - Texas Tech
TAMU won't play- Texas

Good point.

That was a helluva political mess.

But they are still your rival even if you won't admit it.
