On a scale of 1 to 10, what is your opinion of our schedule?

The SEC portion is certainly sufficient. Of course, the cross division game with UT on a historical low doesn't help. Still stuck at an 8 game conference schedule thanks to all the other ADs in the SEC, so it's not really that much harder than some of the conference schedules a tOSU or Michigan play, for example.
The OOC portion is downright embarrassing. I give the U of L game about a C, the rest are outright F's.
I understand few teams play OOC games with other P5, but I'm tired of listening to national talking heads laugh off Alabama and the SEC schedules.
Even Saban has stated he wants to play all P5 teams.
We need to set the example and start scheduling tougher games.
I understand that adding potential losses will hurt playoff chances, but still. I think that a good game loss to say, a Penn State, is no more detrimental to playoff chances than beating Mercer 55-0.
Overall, I give our schedule a "4" on the 1-10 scale, considering Alabama is the defending national champions.
And, yes, I am aware schedules are made out years in advance. (Which is stupid and needs to be addressed and changed to the basketball model of scheduling)

2.
It sucks.
Next year is even worse.

Although, week 2 is giving me an opportunity to go to UK vs UF so I'm ok with that.

This.
And I'm rating our schedule a 4 as well. I'm cool with the opener, just wish we could've filled game 2 or preferably game 5 with a marquee opponent.

Meh. It's no worse than most of that other top tier teams are scheduling. I'm sure when it was arranged, the Louisville game looked like a bigger deal

I feel like Ohio State fans would disagree. Until the committee regulates schedules or shows that a bad OOC schedule can hurt you, we should continue to schedule the way we do because it works.

Add a 9th conference game and ditch the FCS game.

November is a tough month. LSU,Mississippi State and Auburn going to have good teams this season.

The two conferences that haven't missed the playoff are the two that only play 8 conference games. As a fan, I'd like nine conference games, but eight is better for getting teams in under the current system.

IMO, it wasn't the fact that tOSU lost 2 games, they got crushed in 2 games.
Had their two losses been in the one score or less variety, they would have gotten in over Alabama.

A team the caliber of this year's Louisville needs to be the second "toughest" OOC game each year.
Would love for every year to work out like this OOC:
1. Elite/blue blood P5 game (Oh State, Mich, USC, FSU, etc) (first or second game of year)
2. Solid P5 game (like this year's Louisville game)
3. Meh P5 game / easy win, get young guys playing time
4. Meh P5 game / easy win, get young guys playing time (one of these should remain the game before last week of season)
No FCS

I would be good with one marquee Power 5 matchup, a good Power 5 matchup, an easy Power 5 matchup and a Group of 5 matchup.
Or an extra conference game for one of those. I think it's important for Group of 5 Schools to get at least one game against a Power 5 opponent both for revenue and a chance on a good year to notch a big win and get a boost for their program (not likely to happen against Bama, but this is more about implications for the other teams).
Troy's opportunity to beat LSU has been a great advantage for that program. If Power 5 schools don't play Group of 5 schools, there's really no point in keeping them in the same division.

7 Louisville is a mystery... Petrino is the real deal and any team he puts on the field can bring it ..Ole Miss SEC...Texas AM is the bomb..rough for a September...nice gauntlet from there.. Mizzou Drew Locke better not screw around. . solid schedule

I don't think Louisville will challenge us, but you can bet your arse Bobby Petrino will expose a green secondary. They will get some big plays and some points. It won't be pretty. But it should be a comfortable win. Otherwise, typical SEC schedule: screw around with the wrong team on the wrong day and you'll get your arse kicked for your troubles. I'd rate it a 5.

Our schedule isn't too exciting, especially the OOC. I do think the SEC West will be getting back to form. LSU has Coach O, but they have plenty of talent. Auburn usually disappoints with high expectations coming off of good seasons, but I think they'll be pretty good too. A&M should be better with Jimbo, Mississippi State is looking to field a good team. Ole Miss should suck, and while I don't think Arkansas' record will reflect it, I think Morris was a really good hire for them and I think they'll be a team that could beat some good teams that show up sleeping.
From the East we get the Viles and Mizzou. Neither should be particularly good, but I could definitely see both having 7ish win seasons so it's not like they're garbage.
Then if Louisville manages to be a decent ACC team, maybe 7 or 8 wins (which I'm not sure they can do) then the schedule will be fine. We should have a bunch of solid teams on the schedule, even if we lack games against top level teams. Win and we're in, so it won't matter. No way an unbeaten Bama doesn't get in, and no way a 1 loss Bama doesn't get in if we're SEC Champs. May not make it in this year without the conference title though, but it depends on the rest of the landscape and the records of other contenders.
Let's finally get that 15-0 as Saban snaps Bear's record and gets to 7, ties Bear's Bama record of 6, and we break our own record for #18

Schedule is weak, but it makes up for having a playoff.

Considering that once we hit the postseason, we likely get UGA in the SECCG and then Someone like Clemson and OSU...I don’t mind our schedule. I wish instead of UL it was ND or Texas but other than that, no complaints.
