I think our defense has some real talent as long as we dont get hit with the injury bug. If we can develop a good run game I believe we could have a really good formula for success. So how good do our running backs look to those in the know.

The season really hinges on how good/bad the OL will be. There are enough skill guys.

Also if we can hit the deep ball consistently enough to spread the defense. Morris likes to throw deep to open up the run game.

Answer the question... lol

we should be better than the last couple of years with all the talent that we have.

Waley, Hayden, and of course Hammonds.

I agree with the above, but we have the tools, speed, and power if the holes are there.

Hammond's won't go 5 games without getting a touch.

I'm really excited about how our backs will look with the new staff. I expect us to be way more explosive. They are making whaley cut weight because they actually want explosive players.

I'm excited to see how good our return game will be this year. I have to think that these coaches will value speed more than the last group. I never heard of a possession kick returner until Bielema got here. I understand that you don't want to turnover the ball but it'd be nice to have a home run threat back there.

Devion Warren and TJ Hammonds should be back returning kicks.

Can the OL run block and pass block?

Can the QB stretch the field?

It depends on how you define "rushing game". If you count short passes to the RBs as runs then I think it will be good. Excited to see some of our RBs out in space.

I know I'm the "Debbie Downer", but have you guys looked at the 2 deep for the OL post Spring? Leaves a lot 5o be desired. The new staff will have to overcome the previous staff's OL recruiting failures.

I agree with everyone else that we have serious talent at the skill positions. I also think the new defensive coaches will turn the defense around(as much as can be expected with our style of offense). Special teams, specifically the return games, should be much improved. I feel like our QBs will at least be serviceable.

We have some serious issues at OL with talent and depth. It's going to be a major challenge to overcome for this season.

Hope I'm wrong and we have a great season.

Running Back is one of the deepest positions on the team which is good because the stats suggest Morris uses a lot of RBs. Whaley, Hayden, Hammonds, Boyd, and even Maleek Williams should thrive in this system if the O-Line is any good at all.

Our line, barring massive improvement, will be terrible this year. The running backs will be fine; there just won't be any holes. Not trying to be the negative fan, but I just don't see anything positive happening on the offensive side of the ball. I was genuinely excited about Brandon Martin and Mike Woods. I thought Morris could build around them, so of course one gets kicked off the team and the other gets a DUI.

He didn't really show me enough last year to get excited about lol. I get that he was rated higher but Nance was more productive on the same team even in JUCO, and it didn't change here. Hoping Kolian Jackson can fill that big WR role though.

True but Hillis is better than anyone we had back there recently. At least Hillis could truck folks. We had the lethal combination of slow and small returning kicks in Deon Stewart.

Speaking of punt returners, Joe Adams is, by far, the best punt returner we've had in my 42 years of life.

For you guys that seen them both, how exciting was Ken Hatfield to watch? Different eras aside, how would you compare Hatfield's return style to Adams' return style?

I bought a hootens the other day and they talk about every reciever just about except him. You can tell the new coaching staff obviously doesn't have much love for deon

Good. He has absolutely no business being on an SEC team. He is a sun belt caliber player.

I was a bit leery early on because of his stats at JUCO the year before. 23 catches for 327 and 4 TDs. Not exactly lighting the world on fire, although I dunno if injuries had anything to do with that.
