For real
Has anyone else noticed that this has been the rainiest and stormiest summer in a long time?
I don't think we've gone a full week without at least 3 days of rain in Bham
Anyway, my cat came home covered in slime a few days ago, so I stuck him in the tub to rinse him off
He didn't like it, getting started he took a good swipe at me and punctured my right forearm pretty good (one nice hole and 2 little ones)
after that, he settled down and let me get the slime off (when he figured out I wasn't going to dunk him, almost seemed like he knew what I was doing)
But the damage was done...
For the last 3 days I have been itchy and breaking out in hives
anti-histomine pills have ALMOST knocked it all out (hopefully tonight is my last night taking pills)
but I think whatever the frick was on him got in my blood
The area where the biggest puncture was has a nice little purple and yellow bruise
So, is this what cat scratch fever is?

Possibly a mild case, have you had a raised temperature over the last few days?

don't think I have really had fever - maybe 99?
have not really checked my temperature
I am on day 4 now (day 3 with generic benadryl) and the hives are all but gone and I feel a lot better
at first I thought it was just a heat rash (most of the hives were in my belt line and "sweaty" areas)' but I got to thinking about it - what the hell is different?
nothing, no new soap, I am not allergic to anything
and it hit me
Godam cat punctured the shite out of me, had not even thought about it until after I went to walgreens for antihistamine pills
I was gonna go see a doc if I was not better by tomorrow; but I am 90% ish better now
unless it acts up or comes back, will probably not go to the doctor (I HATE going to the doctor)

RIP
You got gonosyphiherpelaids from the slime that was on your cat.

From medicinenet.com:
In people who have a normal immune system, cat scratch fever is usually not a serious illness. A small papule (a raised bump) develops at the bite, scratch, or site of injury within 10 days. The signs and symptoms that follow may include
*fever,
*chills,
*nausea,
*vomiting,
*fatigue,
*loss of appetite,
*headache,
*joint pains,
*sore throat, and
*swelling and tenderness of the lymph nodes (swollen glands).

Much like werewolves and vampires you have to find the original creature that infected your cat and kill it with a silver stake through the heart before you'll be cured.
Benadryl also might work but its way less cool.

My doc really did diagnose me with it once. Don’t remember the symptoms because it was a long time ago but yep that’s what he said.

Jeez, so sorry. That’s horrible.
