We went from aggressive to passive plate appearances in hopes of running up pitch counts. That’s on DVH.

You think that? I thought we've been more aggressive tonight than we have the past two nights.

3-0 and being stuck at the hotel cost our hitters.

OSU has had our batters in between the entire series, late on fastball and early on offspeed. Then they start to chase.

But DVH refuses to play small ball or pinch hit.

39 years later it ends the same way.

Tough being a hog fan.

How do you play small ball when majority of the team can’t bunt successfully or run?

Pinch hitting meh. With 11.7 scholarships that won’t ever be a thing with short benches.

This must be your first year watching Arkansas baseball. DVH has played small ball a bunch.

This team isn't a small ball team.

Its not just that, but he has goes who were 1 for everything, or 0fer the season in the exact same spot in the line up. These guys are in the line up in consecutive slots leading to empty/wasted innings.

So if you are not going to address the hitting issues, you better focus on pitching.

Wait, Reindle is again first out of the pen, again comes out high and not showing his normal velocity, again is left in far longer than your eyes tells you he needs to be, again sees the game swing in OSU's favor.

I hate small ball, hated playing it, hate watching it, but give Pat Casey credit he knows when to play it and when to let his team swing away. He spends time on it to the point where every player on his team knows how to properly hold the bat and square up for the bunt. Meanwhile our SS has a busted finger from a bunt attempt.

Oregon's bats were fairly cold in game 2, Casey used small ball to keep his team in the game. DVH watches his last hitter reach base in the 3rd inning and makes zero changes all the way to the shut out loss for the NC.

Granted Arkansas did make solid contact with the ball which should have lead to base hits, but Casey had shifted his fielders to be in the right spot at the right time to record a routine ground out. Luck? Not when you do this 10 times in a series.

Casey put on a coaching clinic in this series, he showed you what makes a 3 time NC HC on this level, knowing his roster, using strategy when appropriate, not afraid to shake up the line up during the game with pinch hitters, runners, and defensive substitutions. Comparatively DVH showed up, rolled the ball to the mound and said "have at it, boys".

Unfortunately Shaddy will share the same fate as Bill Buckner to the majority of the fan base. He will be assessed the burden of all the blame for the series being lost. In both cases, there was another game played where the teams actually lost the series, the difference would be the Sox showed up in the game 7 and suffered a late rally by the Mets that led to the loss.

Casey emphasizes every player in his line up knows the basic fundamentals of baseball such as being able to bunt. Every player in his line up can lay a bunt down, often times in an effort to only advance the runner into scoring position, not get a base hit.

Meanwhile DVH has his player getting their index fingers shattered due to not using proper fundamentals of the bunt.

That is coaching plain and simple.

That’s on DVH

I watched every series on the road. When we faced elite pitchers. We couldn’t hit and it cost us the series.

Why should we as Hog fans expect anything different.

How many pitches did Abel throw in 2 games.

I’ll hang up and listen.
