Statistically, it's very possible he is the school's all time leader in both passing yards and TD. He needs 3820 yards and 31 TD.

Obviously, just having those records isn't going to have him viewed that way. What type of season will he, and more importantly the team, have to have in his SR year to change your mind?

Getting the yds and TD records are a must but putting the team in the top 5 would help a lot.

It will be hard to top Chance McDanielson without winning the conference truth be told. At least in my heart

Nothing against Lock, but highly doubtful he could surpass Chase, even with some records. Chase had a better team around him and took full advantage of it. He was a gamer, and although he didn't have Locks height or arm strength, he was a much smarter Qb and better imho.

Heisman finalist and SEC Championship game. Numbers alone will not do it. I think Lock has more talent but is not nearly as gritty or quite the gamer Chase was. I would also put him behind Brad right now. Brad was the 1 player who changed modern Mizzou football.

Chase had 4 AAs to distribute the ball to. Will Franklin was the 3rd read on most plays and was Honorable Mention All B12 and a 4th Round Draft pick. Saunders caught 77 balls his Sr year. All of those guys were outstanding at catching passes at the edge of their catch radius.

There isn't one member Lock's skill group the last 3 years would have been on the two deep on the 2007 and 2008 teams.

Chase certainly took advantage of weak B12 defenses as well. In 2008 he had 6 INTs in the 3 Regular season losses and mustered 21 points as OU rolled up and down the field. Chase did a lot of good things at MU but outside of the win vs KU in 2007, he had plenty of meh performances vs good teams.

Ultimately how Lock does in the NFL will determine this. If he becomes a steady started, something Chase/Gabbert never did, then I think he will be remembered as the best QB we've had.

I don't think he can pass up Chase as the best AT Mizzou unless he does the one thing Chase never could, win a conference championship.
