I think "the band" is more of a collection of remnants of days long passed. Back in the days before we had an SEC-specific OT.
For a long time, hijacking threads were the only way to have an OT discussion. Bunchies faced very little opposition then. Only a few stood up against the hoard. They never fared well against our own power of MS paint and photoshop.
Those are skills I have long forgotten.
