Anyone under 50 over 50% these days?
We see a lot of older members in our tribe that are well over 50% (My grand father), but that number drops significantly once you get to their children and then their children's children (My generation)
Myself:
22% (+/-) Native American (Father)
Tribe: Chumash
Area : Coastal Southern California

My sister did a 23andMe test and it didn't show any Native American at all.

Supposedly if you go way, way, way back down my family tree we have a Native American in there. Considering its probably at least 8 generations back I think I'll pass on annoying some poor tribe by petitioning for a membership.
Its curious that so many super liberal types like to identify as being 1/64th Native American so they aren't as guilty of white privilege.
Whereas the Native Americans I knew, and having lived on the border to Oklahoma for two decades I knew quite a few, cannot stand white folks claiming to be of Indian descent and asking to be let into the tribe. Be they liberal, conservative, moderate, or what have you every Native I ever met absolutely despised folks trying to do that. I wonder if the super liberals ever thought about how much they offend actual Native Americans when they do that sort of shite?

When I was a kid people thought it was cool to claim to be one sixteenth's Cherokee or something. I don't think it had anything to do with guilt, but more to do with the implied threat of scalping a fellow third grader if they stole your GI Joe Thermos.

2 of these self hating crackers already downvoted me
Listen, honkies, you're white, and lying about your heritage only makes you more racist.

its definitely more than the super liberal types. Just about anybody who's family has been living in bumfrick, South for more than 3 generations claims some level of Native American ancestry. Guarantee you plenty of Trump voters do this shite.
That is true, I should amend my statement. I've known quite a few conservatives who like to brag about somewhere back down the line there was an Indian chief in the family tree.
You will note no one ever claims my great, great, great, great grandpappy bought a Native American wife from the local tribe because he was such a lazy drunk no one else would put up with him. And his wife wound up shooting him in his sleep a few years later because he smelled so bad.
Liberals do it to assuage white guilt. Conservatives do it to show that by Golly my family has roots in this area.
Honestly, most Americans whose families have lived here for several generations have some small amount of Native American blood in the family tree. It still really offends Native Americans when folks do it if people are going back 5 or 6 generations.

Not mine according to DNA tests, and 3 of 4 of my grandparents family lines go back in the US to at least the 1840's, possibly back to Revolutionary War or colonial times.

As far as I know, zero percent.

My ancestors probably hunted indians.
I think that's cool as shite, honestly.

White and proud, but my wife is Cherokee. She is 17.2% and her father is on the council for the EBCI. Her family is of the Long Haired Clan and a relative of Dragging Canoe. Her mother is white from GA.
You’re right about the drop off in percentages. Our children are 8%. They’re still entitled to the healthcare and distribution, but our grandkids will not be entitled to distribution.
As far as whether or not you’re Cherokee(for anyone wondering)either your family is on the Baker Roll or you’re not. The tribe will not recognize you otherwise. They don’t care about 23 and me. Sorry, white guilt baws.

I saw an interview with a spokesperson from the Cherokee Nation and this is pretty much what they said. They said the C.N. isn't that big and anyone with any significant amount of N.A. blood is already known to them. In so many words, the spokesperson said don't come at them with some off the wall 1/64th claim and don't come at them without verified papers or you will not be recognized.

Is there a Native American only dating site for the purposes of retaining high blood quantum levels?
If there isn't it sounds like a good niche for an enterprising person.
