It's the players like Billy Cannon the make college football, and the SEC in particular, so colorful and fun to watch. RIP.

Cannon not only scored the game winning touchdown in that 1959 game, but assisted in stopping the Rebels at the end zone to end the game. The man was a football icon.
I hate that they moved the Ole Miss/LSU game away from Halloween weekend. Those games, especially the night ones, always seemed more intense.

As a lsu diehard I remember as a kid getting tired of seeing that punt return every year and now that he passed away they are going to constantly show it more which I now embrace seeing. I can't imagine how ole miss fans feel seeing that play year after year. I always heard the story when he went to jail his jail mate was a ole miss fan who was at the game when he return the punt for a touchdown lol. RIP Billy Cannon he was a great man.

An SEC All Time Great. We throw the phrase great player around quite often but Cannon was in that elite group of players that rarely come along.
