Last 25 years State has been the better program and owns the series record 13-12. Nobody cares about who won in 1955.

Head-to-head is not the only way to measure a program.

In that span, the head-to-head is essentially even, yet Ole Miss has more post-season success and more top-end players. Hell, Ole Miss has actually won 4 out of the last 6.

All time, its not close:

Ole Miss leads in the following categories:

- Win % (by a lot)
- Head-to-head (by a lot)
- National titles
- Conference titles
- Bowl games (by a lot)
- Bowl win %
- All-Americans (by a lot)
- NFL draft picks (by a lot)
- Weeks in the AP poll (by a lot)

Explain the logic of Ole Miss having a higher ceiling than State when they haven’t even been to ATL; a feat that State has already accomplished, albiet a down SEC.

Its a far more attractive program and only State fans can't see that.

FAR better city, FAR better tradition, more money, better facilities, more fan support, better national brand, etc.

Sure I’ll give you that, but how does any of that translate to the field? How come they have never reached ATL? How is their ceiling higher when they haven’t even hit our ceiling?

Historically, when both programs are bad/so-so, State has the edge. When both are good, Ole Miss has the edge.

All 3 of the best recent State teams lost to Ole Miss, and really in blowout fashion. Mullen was good at making late runs to make the score look better though.

Shall we compare Texas A&M and LSU in other metrics of football success?

LSU has the lead in the following:

- Head-to-head (33-20)
- Longest win streak
- All time record
- National titles
- Bowl games
- Bowl record
- Total wins
- All Americans
- Draft picks
- First round draft picks
- Weeks in AP Poll
- Weeks at #1 in AP Poll

You're not on our level.

Ole Miss has a better program in football. MSU has better history with basketball and baseball.

It's not like State had a great team that made it to Atlanta. They went like 8-5 and lost 3 games by 20+ but the rest of the West was just pitiful enough.

Which included Ole Miss, you had every opportunity to take advantage of a down SEC, but didn’t. That point is a two way street Quick

That's true but the Atlanta metric is about as weak as the Ole Miss national title metric

Yes you've won a few more Big 12 titles than us.

And according to Winsipedia you have 2 National Titles.

eTA:

And lol at you thinking that equalizes that entire list I just wrote down for you.

That's like, your opinion, man.

Congrats on 1955-1965

more money

Your sentence got cut off. I know you meant to type "more money going to lawyers to defend the school against the NCAA, Tom Mars, and anyone else who dare impugn the integrity of Ole Miss athletics."

more fan support

Untrue by any real measure. Take a random 3Q photo from any home game played last year and get back to me.

better national brand

Ole Miss has been trying to run away from their "brand" since the mid 90s.

Would I trade history with Ole Miss?

Absolutely.

Would I trade the current state of the programs and the next 5-10 years.

Hell nah.

One consistently wins and the other one feels like it has to cheat to win. That should be self explanatory.
