MU enrollment is trending back up.

After dipping to 4100ish in 2017, first year enrollment is currently 4547. I won't be surprised if it's pushing 4700 when the numbers are final. Its a long way from the 6,000+ classes, but it will recover.

What the haters didn't get is that last years Missouri HS graduating class was very small. This years is much larger and the numbers will swing accordingly. Southwest Missouri State be damned.

It will continue to increase. Smaller state schools in Missouri are cutting programs because of money they are getting from the state. This will help with transfer students as well.
It hurts smaller schools, but for Mizzou the state money it is just a small drop in the bucket. In my wife’s department at MSSU they are losing two professors for next fall.
Helps us because she can teach an overload and make more money.
Friend of ours daughter didn’t get into into a masters program(with a 4.0) and ended up going to Arkansas on a full ride. Mizzou enrollment may be down, but Arkansas and most SEC schools don’t even come close to Mizzou in the education a student can receive.

It’s only news for all the haters when it fits their narrative. Funny how all the South Carolina and Kentucky losers on this place post all this shite about budget cuts and dorms closing, but when the trend eventually reverses like we all knew it would, these jokers are predictably silent.
