Well, he was right in a way.

Tua is a phenom. He is going to make all the publicity Tim Tebow received seem like child's play. Get used to his name you are going to be hearing it a lot.

Didn't say that, but he can't scramble and break tackles like Hurts.

I clicked on this thread just to bring this to the table. For me, that comment totally discredited any future analysis from Trent Dilfer.

Kid looks huge standing next to Saban. He's gotta be at least 5'11" or so.

He's not as strong as Hurts, but you're in for a big surprise. People seem to think Hurts is some sort of super athlete. He's good, but he's not on the level of a really good RB. Running from the QB position is much easier than from the RB position. Tua was the #1 dual threat QB coming out of high school. He's a much better runner than you think. In fact, he has quicker feet than Hurts. He's not as powerful, no, but he'll get plenty of yards on the ground. Probably not as many as Hurts, because Tua is always looking downfield to pass.

Exactly this. I’m a gump through and through, but Dilfer is a giant chode.

What he said about Sean White would have come to fruition had GusBus had not coached him up to be his kind of Qb.

Hard to disagree with Dilfer here. As long as Tua stays healthy.

The SEC already has a hard enough time with Saban at Alabama. The last thing we needed was for Saban to get a legitimate QB.

Like we heard Brodie Croyle's name a lot in the '05 IB?

"And down goes Croyle again!"

You do not know much about football do you ? White did not have a College arm, much less a Pro. You could see that from day one. He had great determination and played smart, but he wasn't a threat to beat you with his arm or feet.

I'm as high on Tua's ceiling as anyone, but this is just a foolish statement. Tua will have some growing pains this year, fortunately our schedule sets up nicely to give him time to grow before we face any serious challengers. But saying Tua will go 30-0 the next 2 years is just silly.

I don't get all the hate for Hurts. You go back and look at the Iron Bowl last year. Tua would have been sacked double digits. Hurts was able to break tackles, scramble, and keep plays alive. The score would have been much worse with Tua playing instead of Hurts.

This is dumber than Dilfers comments.

Will go undefeated this year minus injuries.Tua is a generational player.19 may have a drop off depends on roster an UGA .Question is will Saban let him and the OC do their thing or like always does.....play it safe and try to win with D.

They've only lost 2 games in 2 years with Hurts. I think improving on that with Tua is within the realm of possibilities.
