Taulia Tagovailoa, the brother of Tua Tagovailoa, committed to Alabama on Saturday.

The four-star quarterback prospect and member of the 2019 recruiting class announced the decision at Alabama's A-Day spring game.
Tagovailoa, a 5-foot-11, 203-pound pro-style passer who plays at Thompson High School in Alabaster, had 13 offers, according to 247Sports. Among the schools that tendered him a scholarship were Tennessee, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska and Lane Kiffin's Florida Atlantic program.

"He and Tua are so very similar in the many ways you can see just watching them play," Thompson head coach Mark Freeman told AL.com. "You see a lot of Tua in Taulia because of how they both play, the throws and decisions they make. I don't know how anyone in the state could have done more for their team did Taulia did for us this year. He came in here and acted like he'd been here his whole life. The kids accepted him right away, and that is why we were so successful."

Nana's team is taking on a Polynesian flavor. I'm all for it.

So when he sits behind his brother for two years or beats his brother out of the job, does their dad go Jalen Hurts and threaten one of his sons transfers? Talk about a paternal quandary.

“For what it's worth, I have a good friend who coaches at Thompson High School (where Taulia goes) and he told me from the beginning that Taulia does not want to go the same school as Tua. He was shocked when he committed to Alabama and that he felt like it wouldn't stick. Taulia even went to a different high school in Hawaii than Tua so he didn't have to sit behind him and so he could make his own path instead of following behind Tua”

Apparently he will be in Knox tonight after he camps at Auburn. Hmmm the plot thickens. I think he ends up a VOL.
