Probably didn't expect Harper to have the year he had...

That's my guess as well. Sucks, he showed a ton of potential.

We can never keep nice things...
I assumed it would be Dunbar if anybody

It honestly makes a ton of sense, surprised nobody thought it was a possibility earlier. Mitchell was likely to be stuck with about ~10-15 minutes per game for the next 2 years.
As a guy who was the #63 recruit, clearly talented, played well on defense + showed lots of promise on offense, I wouldn't want to be playing only 10-15min per game

Only got 1 year left and not a grad transfer candidate. Don't see a program showing interest.
The guy with the more interesting case is Desean Murray, he has graduated and stuck at the deepest position on the team if Wiley comes back

We are about to be royally fricked if anybody else decides to go pro and we have ZERO fricking recruits.

Well, the benefit is that the "we're young" and "we have lack of depth" excuse can be extended to Year 5 now.

And are undersized once Wiley goes pro.

If only jvilletiger would come somehow link this to Malzahn’s contract we’d hit the Auburn Sports Board Bitchy Trifecta.

Either way, he was going to get a lot better and he was already one of our better perimeter defenders.

I can only hope this is an indication of Samir kicking arse in practice.

Non sequitur.
Try again and this time attempt to sequitur.

Don't be shocked if Heron goes pro.
We should be a very attractive grad transfer destination though for anyone looking to make the tournament.
That would offset any depth issues we run into

I understand I'm in the minority here but I was never very impressed with Mitchell. Offensively he played out of control a lot of the time. I wrote it off as being young and he'd smooth it out but he was never one of the players I was concerned about potentially losing.

Mitchell's potential was impressive, but his play was standard freshman/depth option other than his good D
