I think a good number of our fans understand that we won’t be contending for championships overnight. But manage expectations lol. The fact he thinks only 2, maybe 3 programs can expect to contend for NCs yet calls us out by name is interesting

Him elevating Clemson to the level of Ohio St and Bama invalidates his entire thesis of how hard it is for middling programs like ours to break through.
Right now its easier than ever for a program like ours to do it- we just have to sneak into the playoffs at #3 or #4 (aka seats not there a decade ago) and fricking win.
The caste system that defined college football for years is falling apart and programs like Clemson and UGA are providing a model for us.

apparently TCU is the only texas school that offered him. obviously has an axe to grind but mentioning the plaque to support his argument is LoLable.

Holy shite I hate that attitude so much. The entire point of sports is (admittedly usually unfounded) hope. Even if we hadn’t hired Jimbo, I guess frick us and everybody else for trying?

Exactly. The frick were we supposed to do? NOT hire the best coach our coffers could buy? NOT demand results? Just throw up our hands and accept perpetual mediocrity?
