Chubb will likely look like Derrick Henry has looked in the NFL. Big, bruising backs who can both hit the gas in space but have a tough time gaining anything if the OLine isn't giving them sufficient space to work when they first touch the ball.
Sony became a different RB this season and, imo, should've basically been "the guy", especially in the championship game. He's fast enough to make his own holes and adjustments behind the line but is also strong enough to inflict big hits and break free against second level defenders. He couldn't have had a better NCAAF season heading into the NFL draft...he will be taken early.

Michel
Sony is quicker to find a hole and get through it, has quicker lateral movement, is harder to tackle the way he lowers that shoulder and is faster aka has more flat out speed in the open field.
I love Chubb but Michel is the better RB all things considered. And frankly it we had run Michel more in the 2nd half of the NCG, there might have been a different outcome.

quote:I don't agree with this. Sony has been the same back as always, which is fast, with elite agility, and some good pop. I think the biggest difference is having a much improved oline. Plus Sony wasn't used in the passing game this season like he should have been, or had been in the past (only 9 receptions).

Yeah, it's all perception, I suppose. I can't put my finger on any statistics to support what I saw but I just think he was more aggressive this season. He was aggressively hitting his holes and also sought out second level defenders to take out. My memories of his earlier seasons always had him trying to evade defenders (most of the time) as opposed to feeling strong enough to just overpower them.
As far as the OLine, sure can't disagree with you. All 3 primary backs benefited from improved blocking and scheming up front.

I agree, Chubbs numbers showed why he way "the guy" this season. I think a lot of the RBs not be used as much in the passing game was that Fromm didn't look to check down as much as other Qbs. Eason never seemed comfortable in the pocket, and checked down all the time. Fromm wasn't scared to let it rip

Chubb is Frank Gore.
Michel is Shady McCoy.
Both are going to be successful 3-down backs.

Hopefully we'll have a similar thread in a few years with Swift and Zeus.
I sure hope Zeus can fully recover from his injury

Love them both, think they both have really good NFL careers, but me thinks Michel will be the NFL RB, more versatile, more explosive burst to the hole, much better pass catcher (at least from what we got to see at UGA).
Hope they both go to the teams that fit their strengths best

Now that Chubb has beasted out the combine, anyone in this thread want to change their mind? It's not too late.

Michel will be a star player in the nfl. This past year was the best I’ve seen him and he looked like an nfl back throughout the season. It’s the elusiveness.

I think Michel will have the most successful professional career, however, Chubb will not be far behind. I hope someone in the science department is working on cloning both.
