Yeah, going through the motion won’t get ya much. Try humbling yourself, on your knees and asking Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins. At the same time ask Jesus to come into your life and surrender your will to the Lord’s and pray for the Holy Spirit to indwell in your heart and soul so that you may be an example of God’s miracle of redemption and rebirth.

Tebow is a great representative of the Christian faith. His parents instilled in him a love for people and the Lord. Good guy all around.

I profess to be a Christian. But if I had to be totally honest, I don't know that I would do everything he does for other people. I like to think I would.

Not trying to be argumentative here but you do realize that Muslims say they feel the same things when they pray and open themselves up to their god too. This happens with pretty much all religions.

Could it be that all of the gods are real or is it more likely that humans have an innate desire to want to be part of something greater than themselves?

Mythology. Funny word you chose for someone who claims to be agnostic.

How so? It is just mythology in that you can not prove it to be 100% factual. You can believe in it all you want, but you can not prove beyond doubt that there is or is not a god. It is not something that can be tested with the scientific method. It isn't a tangible object that you can observe and measure, therefore it is and will always remain just an unproven idea.

Here a thought for you. If you took today's technology and went back in time 2000 years ago, many civilizations would revere you as a god. You would be, by their understanding of the world they live in, a magical being. Same goes for us if some highly advanced being from another galaxy visited earth today with technology that was far beyond our understanding. He could proclaim to be god. Many would believe it.

Any advanced enough technology would appear to be magic to a less advanced civilization.

Actually, that's a myth. Most educated people have always believed the earth to be a sphere just as the moon and sun are.

The whole story about Columbus being told he would sail off the side of the earth is a fabrication.

The Christian church fought hard against the idea that the earth was a sphere because it no longer put the earth as the center of the universe. Once it was scientifically proven to be a sphere, the church then changed their structure to still put the earth as the center and everything else revolved around it. Of course this was later proven wrong as well and they once again changed their stance and proclaimed that yes the earth moves around the sun, but there can't possibly be any other planets outside our solar system. Guess who was proven wrong again?

Tim's a good guy. I'll never forget him doing the fake cell phone call to the LSU student section in 2007 after Florida scored a touchdown. Seems some LSU students got his cell number a few days before. Of course we all remember this game as one of the classics of Tiger Stadium and a great Tiger victory. I'm proud he represents the SEC and college football.

His constant religious stuff gets on my nerves but I can't argue with that.

I believe his Christianity is heart felt, and that is refreshing.

But I also believe he's a narcissist. He feeds off of the adoration.

No game I rooted harder for than LSU vs his 07 team.

And yet Tebow is probably my most favorite college athlete/person all-time.

I have nothing but respect for this man and all he does.

It's an endless amount of dedication for the disabled/special needs as well as just humanity. He helped build a hospital in the Phillipines for poor children who wouldn't receive the care they need.. and then his Prom night called "Night to Shine" held all throughout the entire country (annually I believe?) and world for the disabled is just incredibly fantastic. Especially considering he doesn't have any particular ties to special needs other than he wants them to feel loved.

quote:

Night to Shine is hosted by over 540 churches in 50 states and 16 countries. The impact is felt all over the world. Get plugged in your local area.

Check out this promotion for it LINK
So awesome

When I see stuff like this and then people hate on the man, it just makes me respect him that much more. Yes, he carries his faith with him, but he is what you see.. and even if you disagree with it.. I don't see how anyone can knock him for living his life to serve others. I don't see Tebow telling anyone else how to live. A lot of people hated him because CBS and others went overboard during the Tebow craze, and it's common to hate on popular people.. but that never bothered me.

Yeah, I'd say Tebow is wonderful. The sad part is people desperately want to see this man fail.. and I don't even mean in sports.. They desperately want to see him do something wrong. We are all human, which is all the more reason to show just how much a person may need God and faith..

I'll preface my comments by saying I'm both a scientist AND a Christian.

You're 100% right. Nothing in the bible can be scientifically proven as fact. That's why it's a faith based relegion. You have to step out on FAITH and BELIEVE. As a scientist I have seen things that go beyond both my ability to explain via natural and know phenomenon and coincidence. That leaves me with only one explanation and it's why I believe.

To me "God(s)" Is(are) superior being(s). They are the ones that created us. There are now hybrids beings living among us. But I could be wrong too. I may even think There is an even higher being than the one called Aliens. There have been reported people being abducted by aliens and there were not all the same kind of aliens. They must have came from different solar systems or different dimensions. We as a human being were seeded by "God". That is just another way of saying being planted and spread all over on Earth as part alien and possible Apes and/or other species from Earth and/or from another world like Mars. List goes on and on. I am probably not right either because I am human being and we are like animals to aliens. Humans are superior to animals and we do just what Aliens do to us and that is doing experiments on to breed or to cure illnesses and so forth.

That’s an extra reason to like him. And it hurts to say that after what he did to the Tigers in ‘08.

Religion aside. TT carries himself the way I’d like to be. I slip way too often. I still like to think that I help others more than I hurt them.
