Expect incoming from UGA folks (and certain Alabama fans), they just took over the number one spot in the team recruiting rankings.

Yesterday, I listed four recruits (post link) who appeared pretty likely to commit to UGA:

4* S Lewis Cine TX
4* CB Tyrique Stevenson FL
4* CB DJ Daniel (Juco) GA
4* WDE Jermaine Johnson (Juco) MN

Johnson committed today.

ETA: 3* DL Tymon Mitchell from TN picked up 5 CBs to UGA tonight. UGA might hold their #1 class ranking for the next 2-3 months or longer, since some of our top targets aren't poised to commit in the near future.

Welp.

We lose christian harris and they gain the number one juco player in the country.

It would really help if clay webb would go ahead and commit. If indeed he is a bama lock, it could spark some things.

Alabama gets ranked #1 today in something that actually matters, yet most people will melt because we're not #1 in recruiting rankings.

In August. With 9 spots left. And all of our Top Targets still left on the board.

More to the Brandon Kaho story:

Linebacker Ale Kaho, highest-ranked recruit to sign with Chris Petersen, asks for release from UW

quote:

One of the most touted recruits ever to sign with the Huskies has asked for his release from his National Letter of Intent.

Ale Kaho, a five-star linebacker who signed with Washington last December, has made a formal request through the NCAA to be released from his NLI, a family member told The Seattle Times on Thursday afternoon.

Kaho was in Seattle for six weeks this summer but was unable to participate in the Huskies’ formal offseason training program because he still had one high-school class to complete before he could enroll at UW, according to a source close to the team.

Two members of Kaho’s family, an aunt and an uncle, died suddenly in July. Kaho flew home to Reno, Nev., for their memorial services and has remained there. Family members were worried about Kaho’s health after he apparently lost some 20 pounds while in Seattle.

Kaho’s parents are also going through a divorce, putting a strain on the entire family, one of Kaho’s family members said in an interview.

“He had so much stuff going on right now,” said the family member, who asked for anonymity. “Football is not even our concern right now. He does not look right. He does not act right. He’s not the same bubbly kid we know.”

Kaho, listed at 6-feet-1 and 218 pounds, was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 21 overall recruit in the nation for the Class of 2018, the No. 1 inside linebacker in the nation and the No. 3 overall recruit in the West. He signed an NLI with the Huskies during the early signing period last December, the only five-star recruit to ever do so during Petersen’s 13 years as a head coach.

“We are 100 percent Dawgs here. We are the biggest UW fans ever,” the family member said. “But right now UW is out the window because we are just trying to get him back to eating and working out. … To see him like this, we have put football on the backburner right now.”

A spokesman at UW had no comment on the development.

There's only one man who can help Kaho recover from these terrible tragedies and get his weight back up to where it belongs:

What took you so long pop in?

ATM and several others are doing pretty well too. UGA and Bama aren't really "lapping" the entire field of teams at all.

2. Which teams have the top 2019 linebacker groups?

As we continue our look at the best positional recruiting of 2019, the linebacker group was pretty easy to assess. Here are the top teams …

1. Clemson – The Tigers have more linebackers than most, and LaVonta Bentley and Bryton Constantin lead the way. But Greg Williams and Keith Maguire are not too shabby.

2. Alabama – The 1-2 punch of Shane Lee and King Mwikuta is hard to beat, and DeMarcco Hellams could easily grow into a linebacker as well.

3. Georgia – New addition Rian Davis could be special, while JD Bertrand is ultra-talented as well. Trezman Marshall could be the best of all of them when all is said and done.

4. LSU – Donte Starks and Marcel Brooks are both four-star talents, and Kendall McCallum is a solid player, so LSU is squarely on this list.

5. Miami – Avery Huff and Anthony Solomon are a nice 1-2 punch, and Jahfari Harvey has size and upside. Miami has a good core.

After reading through the comments..I didn't even really want to post this, but as most of you know I coach in Mississippi.. and talk with a lot of other coaches. We have to exchange game film and its a small circle. We DO NOT lead for Dean right now. Neither does UGA.. He has become very close with another Mississippi player who went to FSU last year and text him daily now. Cam Akers.. FSU has the lead right now,,they are building a good class and have playing time. Don't shoot me as I hate this news..but it can very well change as we have time to regain the lead.

Thanks. It'll be great if you can keep tabs on his recruitment and keep bringing updates here on the latest twists and turns.

Dean is too good of a talent to be wasted at Florida State. He’d be better served to sign with Alabama or Georgia. Hell, Mississippi State over FSU.
