Current 2019 commitments
5* DE Zach Pickens
#1 DE in the nation. Been leaning our way a long time and finally pulled the trigger. Like I posted earlier, his frame could see him move inside. Crazy athletic. I'm not sure if he's an EE, but could be immediate starter.
4* QB Ryan Hilsinki
The best arm we'll have on the team next year other than Bentley. Needed to get a QB like this because, as Werner has said, he needs QBs that can throw, being athletic beyond that is a plus. As MBoss pointed out, in the interview with 247, Hilsinki recounted a story that points to him being the #1 guy on the board. Basically, Werner was talking to him and his family on the sidelines of the Spring Game when Werner saw Shrader. Werner went up and shook Shrader's hand and went back to talk to Hilsinki.
4* WR Jamario Holley
Our latest commitment in this class. His academic situation is reminiscent of Bryce Thompson of this year's class ie Holley has wanted to commit for a while but wasn't green lighted until it improved. His game had been compared to Shi smith, great hands and speed.
3* DE Rodricus Fitten
BMac's latest guy out of Atlanta. He's got a great first step, high motor and Comes down hill on the tackle. He plays DE in a 3-4 scheme in high school and I believe the true DE position is what he was recruited to play, as opposed to buck. Out of hs, he and Enagbare have the most impressive tape of the DEs we've gotten.
4* OT Mark Fox
Like I said in the other thread, eric wofford is an exceptional recruiter. Identifies his guts and gets them to commit early, often before most even know they're on the radar. Fox is a big OT with several big time offers who committed the day after he got offered.
3*OG Vincent Murphy
Wolf at it again. Holy offer list Batman. This guy has offers from 20+ schools including everyone in the east but uga. Did I mention he plays at powerhouse st Thomas Aquinas? No, I didn't, but he does. They don't turn out scrubs down there. with a decent camp circuit this summer, this guy has 4* bump written all over him.
3*OT Jaylen Nichols
Don't have a lot on this guy. Only 2 offers, no film. However, I have heard that wolf is very high on him and then there's the canned "you can't coach a guy to be 6-5 300lb." I could sit here and say that this could go the Benson route, however, a scary sidenote is, after this year, our senior most tackles on the team would be going into their redshirt sophomore years.
3* and #1 JUCO DE devontae Davis
As rooster said in the other thread, out of HS, Davis was one of if not the best dl in the state but needed tons of work academically. Boom has shown that if there's not significant chance for qualifying he won't take the commitment and if you're a juco that better happen in time for EE.
3* TE Keyshawn Toney
The 6-3 240LB TE was named an all state Basketball player from what I understand. Big enough to hold the edge, athletic enough to come down with the ball. He plays outside a lot for his HS team and I'd imagine he'd get even bigger by the time he gets on campus.

Added another one today: 3* OG Vincent Murphy out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He has a decent number of SEC/ACC offers already. We're filling this next class fairly quickly - wasn't the previous class a bit slow to get off the ground??

Current commits done. Like I said in the op, once this next class graduates our entire Ol is basically the 2 classes that wolf had put together thus far. We're filling those spots fairly quickly. Also early commits are a function of our success in the field plus the continuity of our staff.

Thank you for starting this thread.
2019 could, potential, end-up being our finest class in history.

No problem. While the 2018 class may not feel like it has tons of star power, on an average recruit rating's basis, it is our 3rd best class ever since 247 came into existence.

Is it time yet to start our 2019 wish list? Those we have a legit shot at landing within our recruiting radius.

So here's what I found out today fwiw.
He was basically encouraged to decommit .... as a show of good will. He was our lowest rated commit, I think he said, and we're looking really good with some highly rated LBs.
There was also something else ... or so it seemed the way it was presented to me, like maybe something happened in the discipline or classroom arena that changed things for us.

I think you've heard correctly. Yesterday, a few hours before the official decommit, someone asked Tony about hearing rumors of Gee cutting ties with us. Tony's response at that time was that he'd be surprised if Gee ended up anywhere but Carolina. As of this morning, Tony now says we probably won't even continue recruiting the young man.

Well I don't if that speaks volumes about Gee, or about Morrell's "insider" status.....
