With the season complete, here is a look at the all-time wins list.
1. Michigan 943
2. Notre Dame 906**
3. Ohio State 898
3. Texas 898
5. Nebraska 893
6. Alabama 891
7. Oklahoma 884
8. Penn State 878
9. Southern Cal 834
10. Tennessee 833
A few observations:
Alabama will catch Nebraska and Texas pretty soon. Alabama has also caught and surpassed Oklahoma in the last four years.
Notre Dame has 30 or so wins under NCAA scrutiny. It is still under appeal, but they will more than likely lose them.
At the current rate, Alabama should be in third place in the next few years. Ohio State will be tough to catch. Too bad those 21 wins from the textbook scandal were taken away. And the additional 8 wins in 1993.

Meh, I dont care about asterisks in a book. As far as I'm concerned we're at 920 which is #2 all time and just 23 behind off #1 which we will slowly chip away at year by year.

NCAA has screwed us here, and every team ahead of us started playing years before we did in 1892, except for Tejas.
Most also played easier schedules than we did due to league affiliations, especially ND as an independent.
UM - 1879 (played 43 games before we even had a team)
ND - 1887
OSU - 1890
TX - 1893
Neb - 1890

It still pisses me off we had to vacate wins in 2005 due to textbooks, yet Oklahoma's starting QB that year was paid $18,000 by a booster for working at his dealership even though he only worked 5 hours a week and they got their wins back.

One thing to factor in, they have played many more games than Bama. Some of those schools were playing football long before we did. Not really concerned with the old old records. I like looking at the last 10-15 years, most do not remember much past that. And to be honest teams 20-25 yrs ago really have no bearing on the schools today. Those team like to remember the late 1800's and first half of the 1900's as they were power houses then, not anymore. I mean really when was last time anyone feared ND or Mich

Bama has 921 wins, only a handful behind a team with 20 or so more seasons than we have. Bama's win percentage is the best of anyone.
