After losing Roquan Smith to the draft, which UGA defensive player stands out now?

Roquan Smith declared for the draft this morning. With his departure from Athens, who becomes the stand-out defensive player now?
Dominick Sanders is out, Lorenzo Carter is out, Trent Thompson is out.
Is it Richard LeCounte? Deangelo Gibbs who is MIA because of medical issues but miraculously makes a comeback? What about Deandre Baker? I hope Jonathan Ledbetter improves for next season and kills it.

Baker will be an all American next year. Lecounte could be really good

Baker at CB and Walker at OLB will have a chance at all conference.
Safety will have an increase in tackles. Lecounte will be able to fill this role.
Clark easily fills the void left by Thompson. Carter adds depth behind him. Ledbetter and Rochester give us upper-class leadership on the DL.
We are fine.

Tyler Clark dominated the last quarter of the season. He could earn himself a lot of money if he plays like that next year.

Yeah. He outperformed Trent Thompson. No one would have predicted that after the 2016 Bowl Game.
I understand Trent lost a lot of weight in the offseason. But still. Carter earned his playing time.

You’re right. That’s why he’s foregoing his chance in the draft and returning for another season on the team, because he’s a bitch and wants to help his team for one more year.

I don't think Baker can improve his coverage skills. He is lockdown. His only area for improvement is tackling.
But we are blessed to have him back in 2018. Now we need McGhee/Bishop/Poole/Webb to lock down that other side.

DB: Baker
LB: Walter Grant
DL: Tyler Clark (had arguably a better season than Thompson this past season)

This really is a topic for your team board. Not being an arse it's just that most of us aren't familiar enough with your roster to participate in this one.

Plenty of sec fans think uga is losing everything, so it's good to include them so they can be educated
