To get their heads out of their asses. This is a very good team that clams up on the road. We are running a non-motion offense at this point and we are not feeding the ball to Gafford. It's unreal.

When you don't have the home court crowd behind you and you're having a hard time getting the tempo to your liking, you need to start working an inside out game on offense. This is like basketball 101 stuff here.

I still think these guys are great and will get it figured out.

I'll warm up my truck and make the 8 hour drive to Fayetteville.

Thanks bro. I think Mike should give me two days to work with these guys. I'll whip em into shape.

Nah this team has a lot of holes. You just blew your load too quickly, like everything else.

I don't think so. They're gonna be good by the end of the season. But your pessimism isn't a surprise.

Is there another scoring option joining the team? Anyone willing to defend well in the paint?

Thomas and Cook are complete wastes. Neither can do anything basketball related it seems.

Weak and soft.

No one plays 1 on 1 defense.

We will make the NCAAT of course but looks like 2nd round team at best to me.

They need Jones to get it going for another scoring threat. He is a 25 point player if he is on his game. No clue what's going on with him though. I think Gafford is a pretty good interior defender if he can keep out of foul trouble. That will take a little more time as the game continues to slow down for him.

I like Cook's athleticism a lot.

I don't really see any glaring issues other than their energy level on the road. This is the same team that got blown out by Houston, but they're also the same team that beat Oklahoma. The truth about their ability is somewhere between those two games and if they can peak when they should (late February early March), this team can be dangerous.

We need to steal a few road wins now though or we run the risk of getting a bad draw in the tournament.

Tournament play is 100% about your draw. Regardless of the sport.

For me, there is no excuse for the last two games. Especially since have so many experienced guys on the team this year.

Any sort of solid and consistent play from Cook, Thomas, or Bailey would be great though. And it would prevent Thompson from seeing the floor much for the rest of the season.

I do think they will turn it around. The Miss. State game was one that I had a hard time with. We had plenty of chances in that game and I would think with this team it would have happened.

We’re gonna be mediocre then get our act together towards the end of the season and get a 6-9 seed and put ourselves in a really tough situation in the tournament. This team needs to get to the second weekend of the tournament or Mike should be on extremely thin ice heading into next year. He still hasn’t earned the benefit of the doubt. This is a team with three starting senior guards and a potential first rounder freshman down low. This is supposed to be the year. There’s no reason to think we’ll get more from CMA than we will this year. Time for results.

While I am surprised by the way we lost at Auburn, I'm still not of the sky is falling variety. I will say that if we collapse during the next few games, I will start to get concerned for the rest of this season.

But I do have an honest question though: What makes us think that we are at a level where we can fire NCAA tournament level coaches? I get that we have a great basketball history, but we're a bit removed from the days of consistent Sweet 16 appearances. I also am hesitant to believe that we can reach there by blowing everything up and starting over.

Historically, we have a 64% win percentage. Other schools that have similar win percentages and programs with comparable achievements are Florida, UConn, and Georgetown (56%, 65%, and 61% respectively). Our best coach (Nolan) had roughly a 70% win percentage throughout his entire career. Mike Anderson has a 64% win percentage at Arkansas, and seems to be on an upward trend. While I would love to make some noise in the tournament, I think slow and steady wins this race.
