Hell they have a better claim this season than Bama does on several of theirs so why not?

Because college football has a much more clear-cut way of deciding national champions now than it did back in 1934.

And Div III McMurry can claim the transitive property championship last year over Clemson.
Eh.
Eh.

It'll make the Ole Miss folks feel better about theirs.

Why the frick did Auburn look unprepared to play that game?
We shouldn't even have to be reading about this.

Because they didn't give a shite. They were one win away from the playoffs, but had to settle for a relatively meaningless bowl game against a school who half the country probably didn't even know had a football team until this season.

Should be interesting when recruits ask to see the trophy.

It was funny as a joke but the level they're taking it to is retarded.

Didn't one publication name them the champ?
So wouldn't the banner have to say that?
I mean technically the NCAA doesn't name a champ in CFB, so they could say they are the Orlando Times National Champs or whatever backwards arse newspaper they read over there.

This isn't 1925 or 1941 anymore. Post WWII to 1992 the AP/UPI/Coaches polls were the accepted form by the majority of the country. Especially from the 1960s onward. There has been an agreed upon system, of one kind or another (Bowl Coalition/Bowl Alliance/BCS), in place since 1992.

A 13-0 would have been better, but whatever makes them happy.

The Prince George Journal.

2008 Utah probably should. They finished #2 and undefeated.

They have a better claim to the championship than either Bama or UGA.

At first I thought they were trolling.
