Nearing the end of Muschamp's talent infusion

Agreed. No denying that Muschamp bolstered our ranks so we will see how things have gone without him. I feel good about the front 7 being fine but am concerned about the secondary. Excited about the safety talent we bringing in but still need some help at corner

If Muschamp wasn't such a bad evaluator of offensive coaching talent dude would have built something special at UF because he might just be the best defensive talent evaluator in the business. I want AU in more battles with SCAR over defensive recruits

We have the buck position secured for years to come. We have good talent coming in at corner and on the team but they are green. We'll be fine.

I dont think Davis will be a first round pick. He was our best cover guy, but I could see him fall to the 3rd round. We will be fine on D as long as the O can limit TOs and muster about 30 pts.

At worst Carlton Davis is a mid 2nd rounder (depending on need). He's a very good cover corner, and the best tackling corner in the entire draft. NFL teams love the big, physical corners who can do it all....and he can. In the right scheme, he's going to be fantastic.

All the early projections I have seen have him as a late 1st rounder to early 2nd. If he does not test well maybe he drops to 3rd but I think chances are higher of him landing late 1st than falling to the 3rd. NFL teams all have this blueprint of how guys should look at certain positions. It's why Lawson fell so far despite being tremendously talented. Davis fits the mold NFL guys are looking for and I think he will test fine & end up going early in the draft

That same reasoning is why I think Holland will fall to the 4th or later. Like Lawson he doesn't have the frame NFL guys love although I think he's a more of a well rounded player than Lawson was last year coming out. Holland was outstanding at setting the edge this year and turned into a true 3 down defender.

AU has a chance at multiple guys going in 1-2nd on this DL in 2019 NFL Draft. Derrick Brown, Marlon Davidson and Nick Coe are all the type of players scouts love on the DL.

I am really interested to see if and where Matthews & Roberts get drafted

I think Brown & Davidson are locks to go unless they get hurt this year. Coe is probably iffy but he will be eligible. My guess is Coe comes back & starts a full season before going pro but I wouldn't be shocked to see all 3 leave

Part of having an elite DL now means we are gonna lose guys every year. Check Clemson out. They have to reload each season. It's a good problem to have if you have the pieces to bring in the year after. I think AU will

I expect CD to go late 1st or early/mid 2nd. I would be surprised if he went in the 3rd. On the flip side I believe Holland is a 4th/5th round pick that will surprise people once on a team.

The NFL draft is all about measurables...if you got them they will be convinced you can do X, Y and Z if you don't they will be convinced you'll be a liability. Truth is stats support those premises concerning measurables per position. However, every year guys prove them wrong both those with measurables failing as well as those without measurables succeeding.

We're loaded at CB, Jamel Dean had the highest PFF grade on the team for 2017.

We're replacing Holland with TD Moultry and Big Kat Bryant who are both Steele guys.
We're loaded at LB from last year because of Steele.

Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson were signed by Steele.
Russell might have signed with Muschamp though?

The biggest hole to fill on defense is safety because Muschamp didn't bring anybody in there except Trey Matthews and Tim Irvin. Irvin transferred, Matthews is graduating along with Roberts and Ruffin. Returning is Daniel Thomas and Jordyn Peters
Luckily for us Steele grabbed us a big safety class this year. Monday and Sherwood are going to be a big time duo for us over the next few years. Both are early enrolled and I expect Monday at least to start next season. Sherwood might too, but at the very least he'll get a ton of playing time.

How many schools return a better trio than Jamel Dean, Javaris Davis, and Jeremiah Dinson?
Not many dude. Maybe Bama, LSU, and Ohio State?

Askew, Leonard, Broussard, Jayvaughn Myers will probably be the rotation. Already signed Christian Tutt who is a damn good prospect.
