Fournette surprised me.

And Henry moves forward way too fast for a big man.

Uh no... Leveon Bell is the best RB in the league.

No

Gurley had 147 yards on 63 fewer touches (he averaged 6.3 YPT compared to Bell’s 4.8) and had 19 TDs to Bell’s 9. I feel Bell is a tad bit overrated. He’s essentially forced fed the ball (his durability is impressive though). Neither his 4.0 ypc nor his 7.7 yds/ catch is very impressive.

Kamara isn’t a sprinter. His agility and balance is what sets him apart.

But but but... Bell went #1/2 overall in fantasy drafts...

He's a very reliable back, as you said... his durability is impressive. But there are other backs that aren't ridden like a mule in quite the same way.

3. Derrick Henry – 21.64

He needs to be the work horse. He outplayed Murray for the most part this season.

No Alvin Kamara???

What makes Alvin Kamara special isn't his top end speed, its his initial BURST. I believe he was timed as being the fastest RB in the NFL to the line of scrimmage. That is why he led the league in yards per carry. Because getting to the line of scrimmage and exploding through the hole is a lot more important than your top end speed once you're in the open field.

That's why Fournette and Henry even with all that top end speed are averaging less than 4.0 YPC while Alvin is averaging over 6.0 YPC.

Initial acceleration >>> Top end speed (in the NFL)

He's also got the best initial burst and acceleration in the league. Remember he had the highest vertical and broad jump of any RB at the draft last year. And that typically tests initial burst and acceleration.

Kamara is explosive through the hole and he has amazing balance and agility that allows him to break tackles and make people miss once he's in the open field. And he has enough top end speed that if he gets a crease he can take it to the house. He's basically close to being the perfect RB.

The only RB I've seen with a better skill set is Saquon Barkley because he can do everything Alvin can do in addition to having that freaky top end speed where nobody can catch him.

You have to have a breakaway run to even be in the running for this. So there are some backs who would obviously be up there with better luck, blocking, bad tackles or bad angles... that being said Henry has alway surprised me with his straight line speed at his size.

LF doesn’t surprise me at all due to the fact he’s not built like a defensive end and he’s a freak of nature.

Henry really should have been a LB or DE for career longevity.

I think pad speed is interesting because there are some guys that aren’t the best 40 guys ever that run really well in pads. Melvin Gordon always seems fast to me. McCaffery, Arian Foster (retired but terrible time), and a few others didn’t blaze in the 40 but they just have football speed.

I’d like to see WRs too.

I would bet OBJ is up there among them
