OU vs. Georgia

As an OU fan, I don't really know much about Georgia, as I don't think they've been in the spotlight this late in the year in decades, is that about right?...I hear their defense is stout and they have a good running game. What I would be curious to know...Are they a good come from behind team? OU has a quick strike offense that they may have not yet encountered.
OU seems to play up to the competition, or more accurately, get done what they need to when the chips are on the line. Here's the 3 reasons I'm picking Oklahoma... 1. I'm a fan, duh lol ...but 2. The most talented part of the team got little press this year, and that is their veteran offensive line led by the mountain of a man Orland Brown (remember the name, he will be a first round draft pick), and 3 (and most of all) the absolutely sterling play calling of head coach Lincoln Riley. He uses surprise and imagination in calling games that literally will leave you going 'wow'...
Case in point - On a 3rd down goal line play late in the season versus TCU, he put Baker under center and THREW A PASS. That may sound trivial, but the entire season (and I've seen every snap) he never ever once lined up under center to throw a pass. 100% shotgun. But that wasn't the end of it. He faked TWO handoffs on that play that were just enough to freeze the defense and hit tight end Mark Andrews over the middle in a very tight window. Just brilliant!
Anyway, OU winning is one scenario, but if OU's defense, which has played markedly better in the last half of the season, resorts to it's old ways, then it's anyones game possibly. The biggest deficiency was turned around 3/4's of the way thru the season when Mike Stoops benched the upperclassmen secondary with freshman..They played better and when he put the upperclassmen back in, they got the message and have played well since. As for the defensive front, watch out for the guy with the funny name, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo. A man among boys by physical stature alone, and predicted to go relatively high in the draft. He is an edge rushing expert and is OU's best defender.
So to recap - too much Baker ...he doesn't throw the prettiest ball and doesn't have the prototypical pro style look due to his shorter stature but this season he elevated his play to an amazingly smart and efficient level, while still deploying that gunslinger unexpectedness (Urban Meyer called him 'dynamic') at any given play with razor sharp throwing precision.
Here's the man mountain of the OU offensive line, Orlando Brown.
Too much OU offensive firepower , IF , Georgia falls behind.

Excuses, excuses. And the same one over and over. The Auburn melt weeks after the SECCG is priceless.

Good points, OP, and I appreciate your confidence in the Sooners.
As a neutral party only interested in betting on this game, I would say that teams that have relied as heavily on their offense as OU has this season, usually don't fare as well in the post season. Especially against elite defenses which have a month to prepare. I'm betting Kirby comes up with a few wrinkles that Baker isn't prepared for.

No.

Are they a good come from behind team?
Nobody knows. We ahve rarely been behind in games. However, if you check our record, in any games we were behind, we came from behind and won all of them but one....same as Oklahoma.

We have not. Not as good as Oklahoma's.

I'm sure he is good. Are you aware many draft analysts pick two Notre Dame OLinmen to be 1st rnd draft picks and we made them look foolish? Not saying we will make your guy look bad, but we aren't scared of him, either.

but if OU's defense, which has played markedly better in the last half of the season,
ETA
I should say that we have much respect for the Oklahoma offense. It should, be a good game.

His being hurt made a huge difference on the LOS.

Mark Andrews concerns me as much as anybody else on Oklahoma. He's a great weapon for Mayfield and I think he will have a big game.
