At least among the assistant coaches. That being former Auburn player Del McGhee
Georgia wants to be Auburn so badly they will probably hire another former Auburn player to replace him
The greatest head coach in Georgia history is a former Auburn player in Vince Dooley
The greatest defensive coordinator in Georgia history is a former Auburn player in Erk Russell
Now their best recruiter is a former Auburn player in Del McGhee

Pat Dye played at Georgia and earned his stripes as an assistant under Bryant at Alabama.

What kind of masochist would want to work for Gus Malzahn at Auburn instead of Kirby Smart at Georgia?

Del McGhee actually began his college coaching career under Gus as a behind the scenes analyst. He then left to coach running backs at Georgia Southern before going to the mutts

He did, but why would he leave his current situation to go back as a position coach?

Maybe Dell just doesn't want to come back because you can't spell his name...

Can someone go ahead and get rid of this trash?

So you are seriously questioning why a former Auburn player would return to Auburn? Winning an SEC championship for the first time in a decade and being in legitimate contention for a national championship for the first time in 3.5 decades has really gone to your head

You aren't going anywhere. Just another nerdy, douchebag coward who calls people names and acts like a tough guy behind the safety of a computer screen

You realize the number of assistant coaches expand from 9 to 10 in early January. Every school will hire at least one new coach. Could also push someone out

This is his career. He is in a prime position to make a jump up from Georgia to a coordinator or group of 5 HC job within the next few years. Starting over somewhere else only puts that at risk, whether its his alma mater or not.

Yes, I know that. So you don't even have a specific position for him?
Unless it's for a coordinator position, it doesn't seem like a smart career move and dell doesn't seem like an idiot who will make an emotional decision simply based upon where he went to college.

The recruiter may be gone, but the bags are still in Athens.
