Barry is selling championships.
With the way Kirby has it rolling at UGA and expected improvement at other SEC schools, will our recruiting philosophy continue to keep us competitive?

The recruiting strategy would have been different if they didn't step on their dicks the first month of the season. Winning is the only way to change it.

A very true point. States like Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, and Kentucky simply do not produce, other then that once in a generation golden year, enough in state talent.
It does not mean we can't compete though. Before the Bielema error and the John L. Smith fiasco Arkansas was very competitive during a period when the SEC West was loaded with top teams. Missouri had back to back Eastern championships.
We have to recruit outside of our borders for one thing, and we have to find the right players for what we are doing.
Just getting highly rated players, many of whom turn out to be duds, is not a guarantee of success. Texas has been crap for some time and I expect Missouri will beat them like a drum. Oregon, despite all the Nike money, has been aggressively mediocre in recent years and was pantsed in a bowl game against Boise that wasn't as close as the score.
Missouri needs to recruit the Midwest and Texas. Arkansas needs to recruit Texas and Louisiana. Do that and both programs can get back to where they were not that long ago.

Baylor has 3 4*s committed in a state with Texas Tech, Texas, TCU and A&M in-state coming off a 1-win season and a scandal.

Missouri produces 20+ 3* or better recruits per year. There’s no in-state competition from any other FBS schools.
We have one of the highest recruits to in-state FBS schools of any state in the country.

I want to see where they get the data from. This is a great year for Missouri talent and there are not 20 FBS recruits.

As for the erroneous number bass is using, he knows as well as you and I that the majority of those recruits aren't good enough to play in the SEC.
If we took 20 Missouri kids every year we would finish in last place annually.
Usually, there are 5-8 kids good enough. The rest must come from out of state.

2014, 2015 and 2016 all had around 20 FBS recruits out of Missouri.
This year was a little top heavy with ten pretty good players and then a big fall off. But 20 FBS recruits from Missouri isn’t a stretch at all. Even though that’s not the metric they used.

Mizzou only offered 5 Missouri recruits in 2017. There is no way it’s accurate that there were 20 FBS recruits. Mizzou only landed 1 if those in Davis.

Actually they got one to come from Florida. You’re creating an unfalsifiable argument. Stick to what you know. Because you obviously can’t process data.
