The point is NOW. Do you even football? Have you not even read the rest of the thread? The point being that the CFP committee has vowed to have the 4 best teams in the nation in the play-offs. The fact that Bama is favored against anyone in the top 10 should tell you all you want to know about how people feel about Alabama. This was mentioned last night. Please try to keep up.

won't be enough for them to Jump Bama, not all the way from #8.

Going to be hard to overlook an Iowa loss.

Coin toss? On this side of the coin you have a team that has lost TWICE with one of those losses being to an unranked team by 30 something points.
On the other side of the coin you have a one loss team who lost on the road to the #2 team in the country by 12

Yea it will, to us and a lot of people and rightfully so. However, if the committee wants to put Ohio State in all they'll have to say is that Ohio State's resume has better wins than Alabama and a conference title to add on as well. I won't agree with it at all, but I don't see how people haven't figured out that the committee will do whatever the hell they want to do and find some metric or narrative to explain their decision.

Look, I hope we get in. But if you don't think Ohio St has a shot with a big victory over Wiscy and Big championship under their belt while Bama didn't win a division, you're just being naive. It could definitely happen.

Yeah, if they drop 60 on them, I can see it. But an average 10 point victory or something? No way.

The committee has emphasized numerous times that conference championships ONLY MATTER as ONE of the ways to break a tie between otherwise equal teams in the mind of a committee member. Simply put, Bama took care of business all year and fell short in the house of the number 6 team. Ohio State was noncompetitive and got blown out twice, once at home and once by a middling team.
The mutherfocking conference trophies matter very little. Ge that shite through your thick focking skulls.

If anyone is flipping a coin to decide between Bama and OSU, it's Heads - Bama, Tails - Bama. In other words, no one will be flipping coins.
OSU was BLOWN OUT twice. They are fricking out of it. It doesn't matter what trophies they win next week. They were NONCOMPETITIVE twice!

Some people just need to sack the frick up. We lost 1 game and to a really good team. I highly doubt our team is like well frick it no real reason to keep trying.
We can win in the playoffs people. We make some adjustments to our play calling, lock down the middle of the field, and play hard nose ball and we can beat 2 teams.
If we make it, let's have discussions on how to win instead of just saying put Tua in. Jalen is a winner and with a game plan that fits him we could win some games to end this season.

The biggest thing was execution, the last 15-20 mins of the Iron Bowl was a epic fricking meltdown like I've never seen from a Saban team. If we play the same way the last 20 against TAM, LSU, or MSU we lose those games too.

So why exactly are wins @Michigan(who is 4-4 without Speight), Penn State, and Michigan State better than wins vs. FSU(who is 6-5 without Francois), at Mississippi St., Fresno, and LSU? Hell playing at Texas A&M is about the same difficulty as Michigan with thier backup QB. We seem roughly even before factoring in the huge disparity between loses
After even further research I’m tired of this SOS crap. They’ve played 6 teams with 7 or more losses

I don't think anyone would disagree with you. Especially after another month to get healthy.

Our SOS rating is actually higher, everybody is just focused on Ohio State's "three marquee wins." That of course counts #16 Michigan State as one while ignoring Alabama beat #17 LSU. I guess the cutoff for a "marquee" win stops at #16.

If somehow we manage to sneak back into this thing, I think it will light a fire under these boys.
I believe Saban started thinking Jalen would have to beat Auburn so he let Dabol turn Jalen loose. But Auburn was dead set on stopping Jalen specifically so it backfired. But hopefully as the game went on he started to realize that we could have beat Auburn with just running and timely play action for the most part but it was too late to adjust.
If we get in the playoffs I feel like pound and playaction could win two games over anybody this year. Especially if a team is struggling with the run. We tried to turn Jalen into something he’s not and surely to Jesus they know he ain’t joe montainya now.

Well, aside from the fact the committee varies in their explanations for doing anything on a week to week basis, the chair just last night did say there's "very little" separation between 5-8 (i.e. pretty equal). So it's not insane to worry that Ohio St winning a conference title would bump them over us, no matter how much you or I may disagree with it.

I disagree. If a one loss Bama team can’t get in over a team that literally got skull drug by a average big ten team, then that would be insane to me, IMO

The four teams selected Sunday are deserving, but I also think the argument can be made that 5 thru 8 are also deserving to a degree. Whatever happens, you can bet the narrative will pushed hard for a eight team playoff. And maybe it should.

It will, but this whole playoff committee deal is so insane to begin with.
