I would go back to the dooley era in a heartbeat over the crap jones put us thru.

2.5 seasons to rebuild after what kiffin left is just not enough time for anyone. Not even saban. And dooley was getting pd half too. From that perspective alone it was a good deal.

Remember Dooley loss to LSU in a crazy final. From a coaching perspective the guy could be better than most give him credit for. Just couldnt get out of the rebuild to really know. Jones actually proved he is a horrible coach at the SEC level.

Truthfully?

Chaney (undefeated)
Butch (best record of the actual coaches rather than interim)
Hoke (who the hell knows?)

Kiffin (7-6 is meh but he destroyed a lot by the way he did things)

Derek Dooley.

Kiffin was the best of them but he obviously wanted no long term part of that shite show.

It really would have been interesting to of seen what Kiffin could have accomplished at Tennessee if he would not have bolted for USC. I would not be surprised if a trip or two to Atlanta would have been made? Kiffin sure as hell had the Vols ready to play in the 2009 TSIO.

Three 3 star
two 2 star

Throw in a couple of 2 star ADs also.

University of Tennessee did not develop the coaches to their full potential.
