Part 1

Part 2

Threw this together real quick since our passing offense seems to be the main topic of conversation around here. Wish I could've found a copy of the All 22 stream from CBS, but I tried to freeze it before each snap so you can sort of get a glimpse of what he was looking like on each attempt.

Thanks for the post.

I wish they would do more behind the play view so you can see whats happening downfield.

Jalen threw nearly a perfect pass every play.

Thanks for sharing. He was awesome on Saturday. It was by far the best he has looked passing the ball. Very happy with progress made there.

Jalen was on point Saturday. I missed the first half, but knew he was playing good individual ball when CD, uofarolltide, and Huddie were no shows in the game thread.

I was playing a bar in Smyrna Georgia, but I don't generally post on message boards when a game is on, in any event. You can check my history if you care to. I suppose I'll watch a replay at some point, but I can't imagine that 11 of 24 is near great. But oh yeah, the receivers suck. I forgot about that. They've looked pretty good when Tagovailoa is in the game, but "the game is already in hand" and so on and so forth. Yada yada yada. Excuses excuses excuses.

You will note that I hadn't even posted in this thread, and hadn't posted at all about Hurts' game on Saturday, but since I was basically invited to comment, there you go. Enjoy.

edit for those for whom you have to spell it out. I said I don't generally post during a game. I didn't say never.

Yep Hurts played a great game no doubt about it.

Outside of Ridley they literally sucked Saturday. Blatantly and clear as day.

They are young so it's part of it, but they were drop 1st down throws on the numbers 3 times in big spots bad.

Add to it the 2-3 pass interferences and that 11-24 or whatever suddenly looks more like 15-21 with a few of those incompletions being throw aways.

Remember, everyone can suck except the allstar QB. I already bought a jersey with his number on it.

But, in seriousness, he played pretty well. "Great" might be a stretch. Sometimes I wonder if many Bama fans ever watch other teams with a really good QB.

Jalen was a bright spot Saturday. He wasn't perfect but he was pretty good.

The rest of the offense, outside of Ridley, was pretty not good.

Jalen played well I must say. I didn't look at the links in the OP (will do so later)but I counted at least four drive killer drops by our WR that hit them right in the hands and at least two no calls that should have been PI (frick you LSU lurkers crying about the refs). There were some overthows and missed checks but the DL was whipping our OL. Arden Key is a monster and was up in our backfield all night as well as that other guy we recruited heavily but stuck with LSU (Williams?)

And as long as Hurts fails to make them pay by consistently connecting with receivers where those linebackers just vacated, we'll continue to see pressure on Hurts. He handles even a little pressure worse than any Alabama qb I can remember in a long time.

Ruggs had an incredible catch, but I think that was it for him.

While we are on the subject, how good has Irv Smith Jr been for us? He hasn't been insane or anything, but he has emerged as a legit threat at the TE spot. There were a few other plays besides his receptions on Saturday night where he ran great routes and got wide open, but Jalen couldn't get it off because of guys running free at him.

Teams thinking they can load the box vs Jalen are potentially in for a rude awakening if he plays like that the next few games.

He mad great decisions all night and love that he's continually looking downfield before be takes off. I've seen growth all year from him and hope he continues to improve week by week.

People can chill calling for Tua also....thia is Jalen Hurts team

Just watch the replay Huddie. This sluggish performance was not on Jalen Hurts. He made plenty of throws that made them pay and most of the time there wasn't an easy check down because the pressure was from the end and they were in a BEAR dome look where the only available throws were long and we didn't have time for those.

And even with that Jalen made 4 or 5 big time deep and long intermediate corner throws. If our freshmen had caught the ball we'd have scored 30+ points and thrown for 250.

And I say that as someone who has not blamed receivers this season to date. But they, minus Calvin, Irv and Ruggs on 1 play, were the problem Saturday night along with the OL and Daboll. Not Jalen (and it has been his fault before).

I did say that I wasn't able to watch the game due to work. You can also see, as previously noted, that I hadn't even posted about Hurts' performance in the game, until I was called out by name. It's really weird. Some folks claim they don't like what they perceive to be negative comments about Jalen, but then they perpetuate it.
